Patna, July 18 (NationPress) On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a range of infrastructure initiatives in Bihar valued at Rs 7,200 crore, emphasizing the need to reshape the state into a center of growth and opportunities, integral to the Viksit Bharat mission.
Speaking to a massive crowd in Motihari, PM Modi remarked that just as Eastern nations have become pivotal growth engines globally, Bihar has the potential to serve as a critical support for India’s advancement.
“I extend my congratulations to everyone for the array of developmental initiatives worth Rs 7,200 crore,” stated PM Modi, prompting enthusiastic cheers from attendees.
He noted that the Nitish-led NDA government is dedicated to the welfare of the citizens in the state, aspiring to bring opportunities to Bihar akin to those in more prosperous regions of the country.
“Our aim is to elevate cities in Bihar to the level of developed cities, equating Gaya with Gurugram, Pune with Patna, Jaipur with Jalpaiguri, and Bengaluru with Birbhoom,” he further added.
PM Modi criticized the previous UPA government for its neglect of Bihar, revealing that it allocated only Rs 2 lakh crore over a decade, while the BJP administration has significantly increased this funding over the last ten years, eliminating those engaged in vindictive politics.
He mentioned that the local population is benefiting greatly from the central government’s public welfare initiatives.
“In Motihari, for instance, over three lakh families have received permanent housing,” PM Modi highlighted.
Upon his arrival, PM Modi was warmly welcomed by thousands who gathered at the venue, with supporters lining the streets to cheer for him and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar as their convoy passed.
Chants of “Modi-Modi” and slogans of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” echoed as crowds gathered to listen to the Prime Minister’s speech.
This marks PM Modi’s second visit to Bihar within the month.
