New Delhi, March 3 (NationPress) Delhi Power Minister Ashish Sood has strongly criticized the former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led administration, claiming it left the power infrastructure of the national capital in a state of neglect.
He emphasized that the current BJP-led government is dedicated to providing an uninterrupted power supply with enhanced infrastructure.
In an interview with IANS, Sood remarked, "We are focused on ensuring a consistent power supply and improving infrastructure. The former administration has left the power sector in a troubling state, but we are actively assessing power purchase agreements to boost efficiency."
He noted that planned outages will be executed strategically to improve the reliability of power supply.
"The government is set to enhance power delivery by implementing planned outages. We are doing everything possible to ensure that residents of Delhi face no inconvenience during this period," he assured.
On Sunday, Sood instructed officials to roll out a summer action plan aimed at securing a steady electricity supply during peak months.
The minister also convened a review meeting with senior officials from energy and power companies at the Delhi Secretariat, underlining the government's commitment to delivering reliable electricity.
During this meeting, Sood presented a vision to create a model colony in Delhi with well-structured overhead power cables, eliminating the issue of tangled and hanging wires.
He directed officials to remove unauthorized cables from electricity poles to relieve the load and optimize the system.
To boost efficiency, Sood mandated that any power grid failures in Delhi should be addressed within five minutes to minimize disruptions for residents.
Furthermore, it was agreed that review meetings of the Power Department would now take place every fifteen days to monitor progress and ensure timely decision implementation.
The government's proactive strategy aims to revitalize Delhi's power infrastructure and tackle the challenges left by the previous administration.
