Mumbai, Oct 27 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive in Mumbai on October 29 to deliver a keynote at the Maritime Leaders Conclave and lead the Global Maritime CEO Forum during the India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025.
The Global Maritime CEO Forum, being the cornerstone event of India Maritime Week 2025, will gather CEOs from leading global maritime firms, significant investors, policy-makers, innovators, and international collaborators to discuss the future landscape of the global maritime sector.
This forum will act as a crucial platform for discussions around sustainable maritime growth, resilient supply chains, eco-friendly shipping, and inclusive strategies for a blue economy.
The participation of the Prime Minister underscores his dedication to an ambitious and future-focused transformation within the maritime sector, in line with the Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047.
This long-range vision is anchored on four strategic pillars—port-led development, shipping and shipbuilding, seamless logistics, and maritime skill development—intended to elevate India to a prominent position among the world's maritime powers.
India Maritime Week 2025 serves as the Indian government's leading global platform to actualize this vision, uniting key stakeholders from shipping, ports, shipbuilding, cruise tourism, and blue economy finance, as stated in an official release.
Scheduled from October 27 to 31, 2025, under the theme “Uniting Oceans, One Maritime Vision”, IMW 2025 will highlight India’s strategic plan to position itself as a global maritime hub and a leader in the Blue Economy.
IMW 2025 is expected to attract participants from over 85 countries, featuring more than 100,000 delegates, 500+ exhibitors, and 350+ international speakers.
In related news, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during his opening remarks at IMW 2025 on Monday, stated that reforms implemented by the Modi administration in the maritime sector are positioning India as a global maritime powerhouse.
He remarked, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s maritime vision rests on security, stability, and self-reliance.”
The Home Minister emphasized, “Today, India acts as a bridge between the Indo-Pacific and the Global South, leveraging its maritime position, democratic stability, and naval capabilities. We are advancing in development, security, and environmental initiatives.”
He also noted, “Attendance from representatives of over 100 countries at today’s maritime event is a testament to India's enduring maritime tradition, which remains central to global partnerships and regional stability.”
Furthermore, he highlighted, “India's maritime strength and strategic location are illustrated by our coastline, which extends over 11,000 kilometers. With 13 coastal states and Union Territories, our maritime sector significantly contributes to the economy.”
He underscored the role of this vast coastline in supporting trade, logistics, and the blue economy.
