The meetings focused on enhancing Rajasthan’s economic landscape, rural development, and agricultural growth. In his talks with Union Minister Chouhan, Chief Minister Sharma and senior officials from the Ministry deliberated extensively on significant farmer-centric initiatives.
Key resolutions included the continuation of the time-honored irrigation tank system in Rajasthan, an increase in the state’s allocation under the “Per Drop More Crop” initiative, improved indicative allocations, the inclusion of the fencing program under sub-schemes of the National Food Security and Nutrition Mission, and the approval of funding for barbed wire fencing under the Pulses sub-scheme.
Chief Minister Sharma expressed his appreciation to the Union Minister for the swift and favorable decisions made for the benefit of Rajasthan’s farmers and rural population.
Union Minister Chouhan commended Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma for his unwavering commitment to the state’s progress. He remarked that under Sharma’s guidance, Rajasthan is experiencing accelerated growth and proficient execution of Central Government initiatives.
Chouhan further noted that, at the Chief Minister’s behest, several new crops have been added to the fencing program, and eight low-yield districts have been included in the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana. This initiative will implement 36 schemes across 11 departments to enhance agricultural productivity and farmers’ earnings.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Sharma had previously reached out to the Union Agriculture Minister, advocating for the removal of constraints on weir construction and an increase in central grants for vital agricultural schemes.
Subsequently, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma made a courtesy visit to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
The two leaders discussed issues related to Rajasthan’s financial development, improved fiscal management of ongoing programs, and the recently initiated GST Savings Festival. Expressing his thanks to the Finance Minister, the Chief Minister highlighted that the reduction in GST rates, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has provided direct relief to the common citizen by making essential goods more affordable.
He pointed out that the GST Savings Festival has motivated citizens to purchase local products during the festive season, thereby fostering the spirit of ‘Make in India’ and contributing to the growth of regional industries.
