Jaipur, Sep 3 (NationPress) Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has reaffirmed the state government's dedication to strengthening farmers' economic status. He stated that various government initiatives and policies are facilitating comprehensive development of farmers while engaging them in the journey towards Viksit Rajasthan-2047.
The Chief Minister urged officials to ensure the prompt execution of Budget declarations so that farmers and livestock owners can reap the benefits directly.
CM Sharma made these remarks during a review meeting regarding the implementation of Budget announcements that pertain to Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Dairy, and Cow Husbandry Departments at the Chief Minister’s Office on Wednesday.
He emphasized the need to promote agriculture as an employment-generating sector through the integration of advanced technologies and the swift expansion of services for farmers.
The Chief Minister highlighted the establishment of 1,000 Custom Hiring Centers aimed at providing affordable agricultural machinery to small and marginal farmers.
The operation of these centers will prioritize FPOs, while also considering GSS, KVSS, and Panchayats. He instructed officials to examine successful models from other states prior to implementation and ensure extensive publicity to maximize benefits for farmers.
CM Sharma noted that the e-mandi platform is being enhanced to facilitate direct procurement of crops from farmers’ fields, ensuring they receive fair prices.
He called for the establishment of adequate storage facilities at the Panchayat level and measures to make Krishi Upaj Mandi Samitis self-sufficient. Additionally, he directed the formulation of an action plan for the successful hosting of the Global Rajasthan Agri Tech Meet (GRAM)-2026.
The Chief Minister underscored the importance of promoting millets through the Shri Anna Promotion Agency, advocated for organic farming, and offered incentives for traditional bull-driven agriculture. He also called for strict measures against adulterated milk, quality monitoring by RCDF, and consistent supervision of mobile veterinary units.
He insisted that the availability of veterinary medicines at fixed prices must be guaranteed.
CM Sharma emphasized the prudent utilization of state resources, directing that unused government properties be repurposed for new projects, and land should only be allotted with the District Collector’s NOC. During the meeting, the Chief Minister unveiled the interim report from the Rajasthan Farmers Commission for 2025.
Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena, Animal Husbandry Minister Joraram Kumawat, Farmers Commission Chairman C.R. Chaudhary, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, and senior officials were present.
