Bhubaneswar, Oct 21 (NationPress) Odisha's Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari expressed severe criticism towards the Congress-led Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, labeling the alliance as having "miserably failed" in its role as a credible opposition at both the national and state levels.
Addressing the current "political crisis" in Bihar, Pujari stated, "A robust government is essential in every state and at the Centre, but equally important is the presence of a strong and responsible opposition. The opposition is crucial for promoting good governance. A weak opposition is detrimental to a healthy democracy."
He further claimed that the Congress-led coalition has consistently failed to fulfill this vital role.
"In Bihar and throughout the nation, the Congress and its partners have failed miserably in the past three terms to be a potentially viable and responsive opposition," Minister Pujari asserted.
Pointing to the increasing disarray within the Mahagathbandhan, the senior BJP leader remarked, "There is clear disunity within their alliance. Their partners are competing against each other, which highlights confusion and a lack of coordination. They are not only at odds with the NDA but are also battling internally."
Pujari further noted that the ongoing discord within the Mahagathbandhan signals an inevitable defeat for the alliance. Notably, allies like Rashtriya Janata Dal and Congress are poised to contest against each other on 11 seats in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
"The outcome of the Bihar election is already determined. The Congress-led alliance has lost even before the contest begins," he concluded.
The first phase of polling in Bihar is set for November 6, with the second phase on November 11, and results to be announced on November 14.
In the meantime, the political battle for the Bihar Assembly is escalating, with intensified campaigning and announcements of candidates.
