New Delhi, July 12 (NationPress) In a fierce response to the recent strategy session of the Mahagathbandhan convened by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav in Patna, BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal directed a strong critique towards the Opposition coalition, accusing them of coming together again "with the intention of looting."
"Chor chor mauseray bhai, once again uniting with the intention of looting. There is no doubt that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Nitish Kumar, Bihar's NDA government has made significant developmental strides. These successes have left the Opposition feeling anxious. We are confident that in the upcoming Assembly elections, the NDA will regain a majority," remarked Khandelwal.
The BJP MP also criticized the Opposition for their attacks on the Election Commission (EC) amid the ongoing controversy regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.
Opposition parties, including the Congress and RJD, have claimed that the EC is allegedly removing the names of voters who oppose the ruling NDA, a claim that the Commission has firmly rejected.
Khandelwal dismissed these accusations as unfounded, stating, "Blaming the Election Commission has become a routine for Opposition parties as they continue to face electoral defeats. They need a scapegoat for their losses, and the Election Commission seems to be the most convenient target. However, following the Supreme Court's ruling, it is evident that the special revision of the voter list conducted by the Election Commission was well within its legal rights."
In the meantime, the Mahagathbandhan meeting, held at Tejashwi Yadav's residence on Polo Road, is viewed as a crucial step in the alliance's preparation for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
Senior leaders from various coalition parties, including Congress and Left parties, are engaging in the meeting to finalize strategies to contest against the ruling NDA.
Alliance committees are developing comprehensive action plans on how to effectively counter the NDA’s influence across Bihar, with a special emphasis on social outreach, booth-level mobilization, and voter engagement.
