Rajasthan: Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Transfers Exceed Rs 700 Crore for 70 Lakh Farmers

Jaipur, 13 Dec (NationPress) Rajasthan's Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Friday allocated Rs 700 crore to over 70 lakh farmers through the Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi in Ajmer.

"Being born into a farming family, I have personally engaged in farming activities. I truly empathize with the struggles of our farmers. That is why our government aims to provide daytime electricity to farmers by 2027," Sharma stated during the state-level Kisan Sammelan, held in celebration of the state government’s first anniversary.

The Chief Minister further announced the distribution of over Rs 29 crore to 15,983 farmers for drip and fountain irrigation systems. Additionally, over 1,200 farmers received support for farm ponds, pipelines, fencing, pit construction, and agricultural machinery.

Sharma emphasized that the welfare of farmers is the top priority for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The Prime Minister has honored the legendary farmer leader Chaudhary Charan Singh with the Bharat Ratna, highlighting his respect for farmers. Former Prime Minister Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee initiated the celebration of Kisan Diwas," he added.

Sharma remarked that acknowledging the challenges and dreams of farmers, the state government has implemented numerous decisions beneficial to them over the past year.

“We have executed a Memorandum of Understanding for the ERCP project and are making rapid progress. To address the water scarcity in the Shekhawati region, we have also signed a long-overdue MoU to source Yamuna water from Tajewala. Our government is proactively working on several significant irrigation initiatives to enhance agricultural yields in the state. The Dholpur Lift Project will soon commence, and a new program titled 'Karmabhoomi se Matribhoomi' is being introduced in collaboration with migrant Rajasthani workers to recharge groundwater,” he disclosed.

Sharma noted that during the Rising Summit, MoUs worth Rs 58,000 crore were signed within the agricultural sector.

Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani stated that the state government is dedicated to the welfare of the farmers.

Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari highlighted that Rising Rajasthan has flourished under the Chief Minister's leadership, with MoUs totaling Rs 35 lakh crore signed.

Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat affirmed that the ERCP scheme and other critical water projects are coming to fruition due to the Chief Minister's visionary leadership and commitment to the prosperity of the state's farmers and common citizens.
