New Delhi, April 11 (NationPress) In a bid to enhance transparency, Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Friday urged for prompt action regarding audit findings that highlight the performance of the city government.
During a meeting focused on the Reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG) presented in the Second Session of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Gupta also mandated that a report on the regulation and supply of liquor be submitted by April 20.
Furthermore, he instructed relevant departments to provide CAG Action Taken Reports by April 30.
Attendees of the meeting included Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht; Ajay Mahawar, Chairperson of the Committee on Public Accounts (PAC); Gajender Drall, Chairperson of the Committee on Government Undertakings; Additional Chief Secretary (Finance); and Roli Shukla Malge, Accountant General (Audit), Delhi.
The meeting featured a comprehensive presentation by the Accountant General (Audit), Delhi, which outlined significant findings and insights from the latest audit reports.
This was succeeded by an exhaustive review of the Audit Para Monitoring System (APMS) implementation status and a discussion regarding the Action Taken Notes (ATNs) associated with reports from the Second Session.
Gupta, in his address to the officers, stressed the necessity of acting swiftly on audit observations and establishing strong mechanisms to maintain accountability and transparency in governance.
The committees and government representatives reiterated their dedication to strengthening institutional coordination for effectively following up on audit recommendations.
The meeting concluded with a unified commitment to improving monitoring mechanisms and ensuring timely resolution of audit concerns to foster good governance and public accountability in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
