According to AQI classifications, values from 0 to 50 are deemed ‘good’, 51 to 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
The IMD forecasts light to very light rainfall for Delhi throughout the day, with potential thunderstorms expected in the evening, accompanied by lightning and strong surface winds. These conditions may persist into the night.
The weather department predicts a maximum temperature nearing 21 degrees Celsius while the minimum is expected to hover around 7 degrees Celsius. On the previous morning, Delhi registered a minimum temperature of 7.7 degrees Celsius with air quality still categorized as poor.
Furthermore, the IMD has cautioned that this rainy weather may continue into the following week. Light to very light rainfall along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30–40 km/h) is likely from January 31 to February 2. A partly cloudy sky is expected on February 4 and 5, with the possibility of shallow to moderate fog lingering during morning hours over the next six days.
Dense fog conditions are anticipated in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and East Rajasthan during this timeframe.
On Friday, Delhi's average AQI stood at 238, categorizing it as ‘poor’ as per CPCB data.
