What Steps are Being Taken by the Maha Dy CM to Resolve Issues at Hinjewadi IT Park?

Pune, July 26 (NationPress) In light of persistent traffic congestion, deteriorating road conditions, and instances of flooding during heavy rainfall, the Deputy Chief Minister and Pune district guardian minister conducted an on-site assessment at the Rajiv Gandhi IT Park in Hinjewadi early Saturday. He evaluated the initiatives undertaken by local authorities to tackle the concerns expressed by both IT firms and local residents.

During his visit, he also inspected the progress of Pune Metro Line 3.

This visit followed a meeting held on July 13 with district officials and the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), where he instructed the administration to accelerate efforts to resolve ongoing issues in Rajiv Gandhi IT Park.

The Rajiv Gandhi IT Park is home to numerous leading IT companies that have consistently reported challenges related to traffic and flooding, significantly affecting their business operations.

Pawar emphasized the need for all involved agencies to collaborate effectively to promptly address the problems faced by local residents. He urged immediate planning and action to rectify waterlogging, sanitation, and traffic concerns in the area.

He mentioned that resolving garbage issues in the vicinity is crucial and directed that areas of accumulated waste be cleared without delay. Additionally, he called for the removal of encroachments obstructing natural water channels and the restoration of these streams to their original state. Given the rising traffic challenges, he recommended that the PMRDA devise a construction plan for a new six-lane road, with collaboration from departments such as Revenue Administration, MIDC, and the Zilla Parishad.

Pawar stated that regardless of rainfall, measures should be implemented to prevent water accumulation in Hinjewadi.

Previously, Baramati MP Supriya Sule has been actively advocating for solutions to these issues with both the state government and the Pune district administration, along with the PMRDA.

She has urged the state to enforce long-term and sustainable solutions to the pressing infrastructure challenges, emphasizing that the Hinjewadi IT Park is a vital hub for IT and necessitates high-quality, durable infrastructure.

On July 10, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis instructed the Pune Municipal Corporation, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, PMRDA, and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) to collaboratively formulate a strategy to tackle various issues, including traffic congestion, encroachment, flooding, and drinking water access in the Hinjewadi IT Park area.

He mandated the submission of a comprehensive action plan to address these issues and ensure timely completion of related projects, insisting that priority be given to delivering quality services to the community.

He acknowledged that traffic bottlenecks in the Hinjewadi IT Park area have adversely affected thousands of IT professionals and residents, particularly during the monsoon season.
