Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Sep 17 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated on Wednesday that the government is committed to working relentlessly across various sectors, including industry, employment generation, information technology, agriculture, and infrastructure development, to ensure the comprehensive development of Marathwada.
He expressed optimism that the Mahayuti government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will persist in its efforts for the betterment of Marathwada.
During the commemoration of Marathwada Mukti Sangram Day, following the flag hoisting and paying respects at the memorial, Chief Minister Fadnavis remarked that the resolutions passed in the state Cabinet meeting in 2023 at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar are being executed swiftly. He emphasized that Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is evolving into the EV capital of India.
He highlighted the government's approval of a Rs 2,700 crore initiative aimed at enhancing drinking water supply in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
“Currently, thanks to the Samruddhi Highway and Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has emerged as a prime location for investors, evidenced by Hyundai's investment in the region,” he noted.
According to the chief minister, the Latur railway coach factory is nearing completion, which will generate around 14,000 jobs. The ongoing projects, not only in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar but across Marathwada, are pivotal for development. Today marks the realization of the railway connection from Ahilyanagar to Beed.
“To eradicate the drought issue in Marathwada, we are channeling water from the Krishna valley. The second phase will redirect flood water from Sangli and Kolhapur to Ujani, improving the region's water situation. Additionally, 54 TMC of water from the Ulhas valley will also be brought to Marathwada. The government is committed to rectifying the water deficit in the Godavari valley and ensuring water access for every farmer. A DPR will be drafted by December, followed by the tender process in January-February next year,” the chief minister announced.
He further mentioned that Rs 61 crore has been allocated for the Ghrishneshwar Temple, Rs 541 crore for the Tuljabhawani Temple, and the Aundhya Nagnath plan has been sanctioned. Under the Manav Vikas Program, 94 buses have been provided, along with 115 buses to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
Nearly 916 Anganwadis have been established, with 26,500 new self-help groups formed, connecting 2.70 lakh women.
A fund of Rs 95 crore has been allocated under the Bharat Ratna Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Adarsh Shala Yojana.
Additionally, Rs 253 crore has been allocated for various monuments and temples, with road projects worth Rs 3,121 crore initiated and ongoing.
The chief minister stated that various initiatives worth Rs 7,719 crore are underway in the Hybrid Annuity model, with 70 percent of the Beed Zilla Parishad building completed.
“Out of four lakh irrigation wells, 30,000 are finished, and work on another 1.14 lakh wells has commenced. The cabinet meeting was not merely formal; practical implementation of every decision is in progress,” he asserted.
In a related note, the Chief Minister honored those who perished in the severe rains and reassured that the state government will extend immediate aid to all affected individuals and will staunchly support farmers and villagers.
