New Delhi, March 23 (NationPress) As the government led by Pushkar Singh Dhami reaches its third anniversary in office, significant announcements were made on Sunday, concentrating on the beleaguered Uttarakhand Purvsainik Kalyan Nigam Ltd (UPNL), its contract staff, as well as students and youth.

The Uttarakhand government introduced its three pledges, which include the creation of a definitive policy for the regularization of UPNL and contractual workers, alongside financial support for students and youth aimed at training for competitive exams.

A dedicated platform will be initiated to bolster employment-oriented skills among students through training, with a high-level committee to be established for this purpose.

A solid policy regarding the regular appointment of UPNL and contract employees is set to be devised shortly.

Furthermore, government projects valued at up to Rs 10 crore will be designated exclusively for local contractors within the state.

These declarations were made by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami during a program at the Parade Ground, commemorating three years of service, effective governance, and growth. The event saw a vibrant turnout of citizens.

In his speech, Chief Minister Dhami began with tributes to Uttarakhand martyrs as well as to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev. He asserted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttarakhand has surmounted numerous challenges and attained significant achievements.

“In spite of various obstacles, the state has reached several remarkable milestones over these past three years, which are now echoing throughout the nation,” he expressed.

The Chief Minister also addressed issues related to regionalism and caste-based distinctions, stressing that those who advocate such ideas wrongfully harm not only the movement's founders who fought for the state's establishment but also their homeland.

During the event, CM Dhami presented his government's 'report card' for the past three years.

He highlighted efforts to strengthen infrastructure in crucial areas such as education, health, roads, sports, drinking water, and air connectivity.

Moreover, the government has formulated over 30 new policies for comprehensive state development, implementing numerous initiatives. As a result, Uttarakhand's advancement is evidently noticeable across all sectors.

He outlined major initiatives including the provision of three LPG cylinders for Antyodaya families, 30% horizontal reservation for women, 10% horizontal reservation for statehood activists, old-age pension benefits, reinstatement of sports quotas in government jobs, student scholarships, and free pathological tests for 207 types of medical examinations.

CM Dhami also underscored Uttarakhand's top ranking in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index for 2023-24, along with its acknowledgment in the “Achievers” category for Ease of Doing Business and the “Leaders” category in the Startup Rankings.

He announced that Uttarakhand has recorded a notable 4.4% decrease in its unemployment rate, exceeding the national average.

The state's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has experienced a growth of 13.59% compared to 2023-24, with per capita income rising by 11.33%, again outpacing the national average.

Significant events such as the G-20 meetings, the Global Investors Summit, and the National Games were also mentioned. He emphasized the significance of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) originating from Devbhoomi, which has invigorated the entire nation.

He spoke about the anti-copying law and its beneficial impact, along with regulations against riots and religious conversions. Discussing land laws, he stated that these regulations would safeguard the sacred land of Uttarakhand from land mafias.

The Chief Minister assured the public that the government has successfully accomplished over 70% of the commitments made in its 2022 vision document, with the remaining pledges to be fulfilled soon.

During the event, 13 children rehabilitated from child begging and enrolled in mainstream education at the Intensive Care Centre at Sadhu Ram Inter College, Dehradun, were also honored.

A total of Rs 10 crore was distributed as compensation to landowners who had relinquished their land for the Lakhwar Multipurpose Project.

Beneficiaries under the Atal Housing Scheme received checks and house keys from the Chief Minister.

Various state government public welfare programs have benefited countless individuals, and commendation certificates were presented to those who made significant contributions.
