New Delhi, March 17 (NationPress) Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has resumed his official responsibilities on Monday following a short hospital stay due to a heart-related issue. He received a warm welcome back at the Rajya Sabha from members who expressed their wishes for his good health.

The Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, paid a visit to Dhankhar to convey his best wishes. "Today I made a courtesy call to the Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Honourable Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar ji @VPIndia to check on his health and wish him a long life," Kharge shared on X after their meeting.

The Office of the Vice President also acknowledged this visit, stating on X: "Shri Mallikarjun Kharge Ji, Hon'ble Leader of Opposition (Rajya Sabha) visited Hon'ble Vice-President and Chairman, Rajya Sabha, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar at Parliament House today."

Many other leaders also took the opportunity to meet Dhankhar and share their well wishes. Among them were Karnataka MP Shobha Karandlaje, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and BJP President J.P. Nadda.

Dhankhar was admitted to AIIMS Delhi on March 9 after experiencing chest pain. He received treatment in the Critical Care Unit under the care of Dr. Rajiv Narang, head of the Cardiology Department, and was discharged on March 12.

Upon his return to the Rajya Sabha, Leader of the House J.P. Nadda extended Holi greetings on behalf of all members and expressed hopes for Dhankhar's quick recovery. "You have returned to the House following your illness. We wish you good health and appreciate your commitment to your duties," Nadda remarked.

Kharge also wished the Vice President a joyful Holi and praised Dhankhar's eagerness to return. "I expected you to rest a bit longer, but your enthusiasm to get back to work is impressive," he commented.

Grateful for the support received during his health issues, Dhankhar reflected, "While I was hospitalized, Sonia Gandhi reached out to my wife to inquire about my condition. Several Chief Ministers, including West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, also sent their good wishes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited me, and many others wished to, but hospital restrictions were in place," he stated.
