New Delhi, March 15 (NationPress) Vice-President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has successfully recuperated from his heart issue and is set to return to his role as presiding officer of the Rajya Sabha starting Monday, as confirmed by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Saturday.
The former Union minister visited Dhankhar at his residence, sharing on the social media platform X, “I had the pleasure of meeting the Hon'ble Vice President today. I am pleased to see his swift recovery, and he is preparing to resume his duties in the Rajya Sabha from Monday, March 17th.”

On Monday, aside from discussing reports from the parliamentary standing committee on defence, social justice and empowerment, and external affairs, the House is also expected to elect a member to the National Institutes of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Management Council.

The 73-year-old Vice-President was admitted to AIIMS Delhi in the early hours of March 9, following complaints of uneasiness and chest pain. He was promptly placed in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) under the care of Dr. Rajiv Narang, the Head of Cardiology at AIIMS.
After a successful medical intervention, which included the placement of a stent, his health improved, resulting in his discharge on March 12.
Later, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited AIIMS Delhi to check on his well-being and wished for his quick recovery.
