Bengaluru, Sep 27 (NationPress) Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar has verified that Chinnaiah, known as the masked figure, transported a skull to Delhi prior to filing complaints concerning the mass grave incident.
During a media interaction at his residence in Sadashivanagar on Saturday, Shivakumar addressed several inquiries.
"The primary goal of our government is to unveil the truths surrounding the Dharmasthala case to the public," Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar emphasized while responding to a statement from Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala, Veerendra Heggade, who expressed gratitude to the Congress-led administration for a thorough investigation.
In response to a question regarding Heggade's comment that the establishment of the SIT (Special Investigation Team) has absolved him from any blame, Shivakumar remarked, "Let’s await the investigation report first. I'll comment after that. I've noted Heggade's statement in the media. It’s premature to comment before the report is out."
"Politicians might express varying opinions. However, I represent the government and cannot speak like others. Once the report is finalized, either the Chief Minister or the Home Minister will provide an official statement. I will share my thoughts afterward," he clarified.
When questioned about whether the government would act against individuals allegedly attempting to mislead the public despite the Supreme Court rejecting the PIL, he stated, "This is not the appropriate time for that discussion. A petition was brought before the Supreme Court, and it was dismissed."
Shivakumar maintained that the court instructed the petitioners to approach local authorities to pursue their investigative requests and sent them back.
"No one is addressing the Supreme Court’s directives. They traveled all the way to Delhi with the skull. However, let the investigation team officially present the report to us," Shivakumar asserted.
Previously, Shivakumar ignited controversy by alleging a conspiracy aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the Hindu pilgrimage site Dharmasthala.
This statement embarrassed the Congress-led government, with the BJP criticizing the state administration.
T. Jayanth, an activist opposing temple authorities, revealed that alongside complainant Chinnaiah and others, they drove to Delhi with a skull to seek guidance on the case.
Heggade, a member of the BJP Rajya Sabha, stated on Friday that the SIT investigating the mass grave case is uncovering the truth, expressing gratitude to the Congress-led state government.
BJP State President B. Y. Vijayendra stated, "The Congress-led administration is actively facilitating a coordinated effort aimed at discrediting and undermining the esteemed Hindu religious site, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala."
