Chennai, Sep 13 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and DMK leader M.K. Stalin has declared that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) stands as an unyielding fortress of ideals, impervious to both old adversaries and new contenders.
In an open letter to party members ahead of the grand 'Mupperum Vizha' (Great Festival) set for September 17 in Karur, CM Stalin emphasized that the DMK is not simply a group of opportunists who gather to chant slogans or create chaos.
“When we assemble, we unite as an army of principles. And when we disperse, we depart as soldiers of ideals,” he asserted.
The upcoming celebration in Karur will honor three significant milestones: the birth anniversaries of reformer Periyar and former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai, along with the founding day of the DMK.
CM Stalin encouraged party cadres to engage with discipline and dedication, describing the event as a festival that champions the principles and philosophy of the Dravidian movement.
He reminisced about his days as Youth Wing Secretary, where he personally led rallies and campaigns, stressing that the Karur gathering is not just a tribute to past successes but also a platform to prepare for the future without faltering. This year's celebration will take place at Kodankipatti along the Karur Bypass. Stalin commended Karur district secretary Senthil Balaji for his diligent efforts in organizing the logistics.
The event is scheduled to commence at 5 p.m. and will be chaired by senior DMK leader Durai Murugan. CM Stalin also reminded party members that on September 15, in honor of Anna's birth anniversary, over one crore families who have participated in the DMK's 'Oraniyil Tamil Nadu' membership initiative will pledge to never allow Tamil Nadu to bow its head in shame.
Highlighting the achievements of the DMK government since taking office, CM Stalin remarked that Tamil Nadu has emerged as a leading state in various sectors, showcasing double-digit economic growth, advancements in healthcare infrastructure, and increased industrial investment.
“The data provided by the Union government itself serves as a testament to the performance of the Dravidian Model government,” he stated.
Positioning the Karur event as more than just a commemoration, CM Stalin described it as a “preview parade” of the DMK’s anticipated victory in the upcoming 2026 Assembly elections.
He urged volunteers and party members to participate with restraint and unity, demonstrating the party's discipline to the public.
