Mumbai, May 24 (NationPress) Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anand Dubey on Saturday expressed his support for External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar’s recent statements regarding terrorism, asserting that the Minister’s words resonate with the collective sentiment of 140 crore Indians.
EAM Jaishankar emphasized India’s unwavering stance of zero tolerance towards terrorism and its refusal to yield to nuclear threats while addressing the cross-border connections linked to the recent Pahalgam massacre.
In a statement to IANS, Dubey remarked, “Jaishankar is our Foreign Minister and a specialist in diplomatic affairs. His declaration in Germany that India will not tolerate terrorism under any circumstances is not merely his personal opinion; it encapsulates the voice of 140 crore citizens of this nation. It reflects the unified sentiment of the Opposition, the Indian Army, and the general populace.”
Dubey continued, “We will not submit to threats from Pakistan, irrespective of their repeated nuclear threats. Operation Sindoor is ongoing; it is merely on hold. When the time is right, our armed forces will resume operations to eliminate terrorist threats. Pakistan must amend its behavior and foster peace. If it fails to do so, we will redefine their geography; this is the new India. This is an India that enters enemy territories to strike. If you communicate with India in goodwill, we will respond in kind. However, if you send terrorists, we will retaliate even more fiercely.”
He underscored that Jaishankar’s statements embody a national consensus.
“Whether in Germany or elsewhere, the world stands with us. We are a land of Buddha, but we are also a nation known for our valor,” he added.
Commenting on the NITI Aayog’s 10th Governing Council meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dubey stated that this platform is essential for development and state-level coordination.
“NITI Aayog meetings are held periodically and presided over by the Prime Minister. Most Chief Ministers attend, with alternative arrangements made if needed. The Aayog is crucial for discussing pivotal developmental issues and promoting collaboration between the Centre and the states,” he noted.
“If the Prime Minister is calling such a meeting, it is a constructive initiative, and the states will gain from the discussions.”
In response to Congress's nationwide 'Jai Hind Sabha' initiative from May 24 to May 31 to honor the armed forces, Dubey asserted that patriotism should transcend political affiliations.
“This nation belongs to everyone, not just the BJP. All political parties should partake in initiatives like Tiranga Yatras or Jai Hind Sabhas. The BJP is participating, Congress is participating — and we will also join in. Every citizen and party has a role in advancing the nation,” Dubey told IANS.
He emphasized, “Our military deserves respect from all. We do not engage in symbolic politics like the BJP. We serve the nation with sincere commitment. Whether it’s a Jai Hind Sabha or a Tiranga Yatra, we welcome participation from all sectors.”
Anand Dubey also raised concerns regarding the surge in COVID-19 cases.
“COVID-19 cases are on the rise, and now is not the time for political maneuvering. The focus should be on public health. The BMC and state government must prioritize treatment, testing, masking, and social distancing. This is not merely about governance — it’s about saving lives,” he stated.
He commended the previous Maharashtra government under Uddhav Thackeray.
“Under Uddhav Thackeray's leadership, the previous government effectively managed the pandemic. Their efforts were acknowledged not only by the populace but also by institutions like the Supreme Court and NITI Aayog. The current administration must issue clear guidelines, enhance testing, and take swift action to control the spread.”
Dubey further commented on the recent incident where Pakistan denied emergency landing permission to an IndiGo flight, labeling it a humanitarian failure.
“Granting emergency landings is a fundamental principle of humanity, yet such compassion cannot be expected from Pakistan. Hundreds of passengers were stranded onboard, and during natural or medical emergencies, Pakistan should have permitted the flight to land. Fortunately, the passengers were unharmed,” he remarked.
He added, “Had the roles been reversed, India would have assisted Pakistan out of humanitarian concern. This illustrates the unfortunate nature of our neighboring country — even in times of crisis, they refuse to cooperate.”
Dubey reiterated that national interest, public health, and humanitarian values must take precedence over politics.
“Whether addressing terrorism, managing a pandemic, or navigating a humanitarian crisis — India must respond decisively, unitedly, and ethically,” he concluded.
