New Delhi, Sep 4 (NationPress) National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in New Delhi on Thursday to address recent geopolitical shifts and their implications for both global and regional stability.
Wong shared on X, "It was a pleasure to reconnect with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval; our last meeting was during PM Modi’s visit to Singapore last year. Our discussions centered on the latest geopolitical developments and their ramifications for both global and regional stability."
He further remarked, "India and Singapore have ample opportunities to collaborate in fostering growth and stability in the region."
In addition, the Singaporean PM engaged with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, focusing on the enhancement of bilateral cooperation in education and skill development.
"Had a productive discussion with India’s Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan regarding boosting Singapore-India collaboration in education and skills development — a vital aspect of our robust bilateral relationship," Wong wrote on X following their meeting.
Earlier, Lawrence Wong met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi, where they explored avenues for expanding collaboration in trade and investment, advanced manufacturing, connectivity, digitalization, healthcare, and medicine, as well as skilling, sustainability, defence, security, and cultural exchanges. According to Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, the two leaders also addressed regional and global matters of shared interest.

PM Modi and Lawrence Wong also jointly inaugurated the Phase-2 development of the Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal (BMCT), a project developed in partnership with Singapore, at Navi Mumbai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNP).

Earlier in the day, External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar met with the Singaporean PM Lawrence Wong to discuss fortifying bilateral relations, expressing optimism that ties between the two nations would further strengthen following Wong's meeting with Prime Minister Modi.
Taking to X, Jaishankar stated, "I was pleased to meet PM Lawrence Wong of Singapore this morning in Delhi. I value his continuous support for enhancing India-Singapore relations."
Wong arrived in India on Tuesday for a three-day official visit, marking a pivotal moment in the evolving strategic partnership between the two nations. During his time in India, Wong met with Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to discuss collaboration in the sectors of health and finance. This visit marks Wong's first trip to India since taking office, accompanied by his wife and a high-level delegation of cabinet ministers and senior officials.
