New Delhi, Oct 17 (NationPress) External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar met with Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin on Friday in New Delhi, where discussions centered on enhancing collaboration in various sectors such as trade, investment, energy, connectivity, health, and technology. Alckmin also serves as Brazil's Minister of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services.
In a post on X, EAM expressed, "It was a pleasure to engage with Geraldo Alckmin, Vice-President of Brazil. We explored the potential for increased cooperation in trade, investment, energy, connectivity, health, and technology."
The day prior, Vice President C P Radhakrishnan held talks with Alckmin, focusing on enhancing energy cooperation and deepening partnerships in pharmaceuticals, defense, research investments, connectivity, and emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digitalization.
The Vice President's office shared via X, "Today, CP Radhakrishnan met with Geraldo Alckmin, who is on an official visit to India, at the Vice-President’s Enclave."
Both leaders expressed enthusiasm about strengthening trade and economic relations, discussing energy cooperation, partnerships in pharmaceuticals and defense, research investments, improved connectivity, and collaboration in emerging sectors like Artificial Intelligence and digitalization.
During a meeting between Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Alckmin in New Delhi, both nations agreed to bolster bilateral trade and investment across various sectors including energy, agriculture, and technology.
Goyal remarked, "We reviewed our comprehensive bilateral trade ties and reaffirmed our commitment to deepen cooperation across sectors such as energy, healthcare, agriculture, and technology."
He added, "Shared democratic values and a mutual vision for inclusive and sustainable growth are the foundation of our partnership."
On World Food Day, Goyal noted, "We are celebrating the India–Brazil partnership and the contributions of our farmers that continue to enhance global food security."
This meeting follows recent high-level discussions between Indian and Brazilian leaders aimed at boosting trade and investment between the two nations.
