Copenhagen (Denmark), May 22 (NationPress) - External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar engaged with the Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen on Wednesday (local time) to explore the dynamics of India and Denmark relations. He also praised Denmark's unwavering support in the fight against terrorism.
"I am thrilled to have met FM Lars Lokke Rasmussen in Copenhagen this evening. Denmark's steadfast support in combating terrorism is genuinely admirable. Our extensive discussions on bilateral relations and global matters showcase the robust nature of our partnership," stated EAM Jaishankar in a post on X.
The EAM arrived here on Tuesday evening as part of his three-country tour, which also includes the Netherlands and Germany.
Earlier that day, he held a meeting with Soren Gade, Speaker of the Danish Parliament Folketing, expressing gratitude for Denmark's strong stance against terrorism.
"I had a very cordial meeting with Speaker Soren Gade in Copenhagen today. I appreciate his solidarity as India steadfastly fights terrorism. I also value his continuous support for enhancing India-Denmark relations," Jaishankar remarked in another post on X.
Later on Wednesday, EAM Jaishankar interacted with the Indian community in Copenhagen, acknowledging their contribution to cultural ties.
"It was wonderful to meet representatives of the Indian community in Copenhagen. They proudly carry the Indian flag in Denmark and help shape our positive image here," he added.
EAM Jaishankar arrived in Denmark on Wednesday after a successful two-day official visit to the Netherlands from May 19 to 20.
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen welcomed the EAM, with key discussions centered on furthering the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership.
