New Delhi, Oct 16 (NationPress) Egypt's Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has landed in New Delhi on Thursday to participate in the inaugural India-Egypt Strategic Dialogue, designed to bolster bilateral relations and strategic alliances.
Upon his arrival, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) expressed their warm welcome via X, stating, "This presents an opportunity to assess the advancements in the execution of the India-Egypt Strategic Partnership and to discuss regional and global matters."
As per Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdelatty is slated to engage in numerous bilateral discussions with senior Indian officials and leaders of major Indian corporations, all aimed at fortifying the ties and strategic collaboration between the two nations.
Earlier this week, the Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, had a significant meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi at the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh.
"It was an honor to meet His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi of Egypt during the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm El Sheikh. Egypt and India have a robust and dynamic strategic partnership. The MEA revealed that External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar has had several discussions with Foreign Minister Abdelatty in recent months, particularly following the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 and Operation Sindoor.
In June, a high-ranking, multi-party delegation from India, led by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SP) member Supriya Sule, successfully engaged with esteemed members of the Egyptian Senate, reinforcing India's strong stance against terrorism.
The delegation met with Senator Hossam Al-Khouly of the Mostaqbal Watan Party, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Hazem Omar, and other committee leaders.
The Senate expressed its solidarity with India, reaffirming the significance of the close strategic relationship between India and Egypt.
This year, during a visit to Egypt, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi formalized an agreement to elevate the bilateral relationship to a "Strategic Partnership."
