Kolkata, July 22 (NationPress) On Monday, the West Bengal Police apprehended eight Bangladeshi nationals in the Murshidabad district for illegal entry into India. In addition, three individuals were detained for allegedly aiding their unlawful arrival.

The arrests took place at two distinct locations, as confirmed by Additional Superintendent of Police, Lalbag, Raspreet Singh. The Bangladeshi detainees originated from Chapai Nababganj and Rajshahi, areas linked to extremist groups such as Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh, Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HUT), and Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT).

In a significant operation at Lalgola, five Bangladeshi nationals and two Indian accomplices were captured. Based on reliable intelligence, the Lalgola Police executed a raid at the residence of Jamirul Sheikh, leading to the apprehension of five illegal entrants. The individuals identified include Sakirul Islam, Muhammad Serajul, Muhammad Samsul, Sakil Sheikh, and Sanjit Karmakar. The accomplices, Jamirul Sheikh and Tofajul Sheikh, were also arrested.
