Why Did Sneh Rana Praise Sree Charani and Kranti Goud?

Chester-le-Street, July 21 (NationPress) Indian all-rounder Sneh Rana has showered accolades on emerging bowlers N. Sree Charani and Kranti Goud, commending their smooth adaptation to international cricket in the absence of senior pacers Renuka Singh Thakur and Pooja Vastrakar.

The duo has made a mark during India’s current tour of England, playing pivotal roles in both the T20I and ODI series.

Sree Charani, a remarkable performer in the five-match T20I series that India clinched 3-2, took 10 wickets and consistently troubled the English batters. Goud, on the other hand, has claimed three wickets in the ongoing ODI series, which is currently tied at 1-1 ahead of the decisive match.

As the final game approaches, Rana shared her admiration for both players.

“Charani is truly an exceptional bowler. She has excelled in the domestic season and the WPL. Her ability to spin the ball is remarkable,” stated Rana.

“She possesses a high-arm action, and whenever she steps up to bowl, it feels like she is about to take a wicket. Her understanding of her skills makes conversing with her enjoyable,” she added.

Rana acknowledged that despite Charani and Goud's limited international experience, their achievements in domestic cricket and the Women’s Premier League have instilled the confidence needed to excel at the top level.

“In terms of international cricket, they may lack experience, but they have gained significant exposure in domestic cricket. Kranti Goud has also been performing exceptionally well in the WPL,” she remarked. “Our conversations are straightforward – the confidence they exude there is what they need to bring into international cricket.”

The Indian team, she mentioned, is focused on the immediate challenge rather than being distracted by future aspirations such as the World Cup.

“We aren’t overly concerned about what lies ahead. The World Cup is approaching, and it’s crucial this year. However, our focus remains on what we are currently doing, what we are working on, and our execution,” Rana stated.

Discussing her own bowling strategy, Rana emphasized the significance of partnerships over rigid roles.

“What matters is not where you bowl from but how you collaborate in bowling. My mindset has always been to pursue wickets first, and we cultivate that mentality in the nets.

“Initially, our goal is to take wickets, but equally important is how we contain runs — because containment creates pressure on the opponents, leading to wickets,” she added.

With a chance at a rare ODI series victory in England, India’s combination of youth and experience is eager to seize the moment.
