Mumbai/Buldhana, Nov 19 (NationPress) The president of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, Harshwardhan Sapkal, stated on Wednesday that Deputy Chief Minister and leader of the Shiv Sena, Eknath Shinde, has become increasingly isolated within the MahaYuti. He suggested that the looming threat of a potential party split is weighing heavily on Shinde.
Sapkal commented that it is this very fear that has led to what he described as a theatrical display of Shinde's discontent and protests. He emphasized that the MahaYuti alliance was never built on principles of ideology, development, or trust, but rather solely for the pursuit of power. Instead of tolerating humiliation for the sake of power, he argued that Shinde should resign from his government position.
Sapkal, who initiated the party’s campaign in Buldhana for upcoming local and civic body elections, remarked that the three parties currently in power have united out of desperation to cling to power.
He referred to this alliance as a “triple engine government gang,” indicating that internal conflicts are evident. Shinde occasionally retreats to a field in Dare village of Satara district when feeling distressed, while other Deputy Chief Ministers seem to vanish at times.
Sapkal advised that if Shinde genuinely wishes to protest or is truly aggrieved, he should resign if there are no significant changes. He noted that as long as Shinde remains dependent on power, he must endure the harassment from Devendra Fadnavis.
On the topic of the Pune land scam, Sapkal alleged that Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Ajit Pawar went to Delhi to seek assistance from Union Home Minister Amit Shah to escape legal troubles.
He indicated that Pawar might have reached a deal in Delhi, as Parth Pawar appears to have been exonerated. It seems there is an understanding between Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. If not, specific officers wouldn't be targeted while Ajit Pawar’s son, who holds 99% of the stake, was spared. Despite accusations of a ₹70,000 crore irrigation scam against Ajit Pawar, the BJP has still welcomed him into the government.
Sapkal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of granting election tickets to individuals linked with the drug mafia, criminals, and those with serious legal charges in local and civic elections.
“People with significant criminal backgrounds are being accepted into the party and are being 'cleansed' in the process,” he claimed.
However, he urged the public to reject the corrupt and distorted politics of the BJP.
