New Delhi, July 26 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has revealed plans for an elevated corridor over the Munak Canal in north Delhi, aimed at alleviating traffic congestion in the region. This initiative will also see the development of a riverfront alongside the waterway.

During the inauguration of several public amenities in her Shalimar Bagh Assembly Constituency, CM Gupta highlighted that the forthcoming elevated road will link Inderlok Metro Station to the Delhi border, enhancing connectivity between the Outer and Inner Ring Roads.

The project will feature roads flanking the canal and an elevated structure above, transforming the area into one of the most desirable locations in Delhi.

Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated new sewer lines in the TP, VP, LP, and HD blocks of Pitampura, which were constructed at a cost of Rs 60 lakh. She also opened a new road between SP-1 and SP-65, developed for Rs 11 lakh.

CM Gupta stated that tenders amounting to Rs 91 lakh for connecting additional lanes in the SP and TP blocks are already underway. She emphasized that these initiatives are being implemented with a strategic approach to ensure long-lasting advantages for residents.

Additionally, she introduced the Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) pipeline project worth Rs 54 lakh in the VP and FP blocks, along with new RMC roads in the JP and KP blocks costing Rs 35 lakh.

A specially designed play area for children in the JP Block, developed for Rs 6 lakh, was also inaugurated. Furthermore, RMC roads valued at Rs 1.35 crore are being constructed in the JP, KP, MP, and LP blocks, with a high-mast light installed in the JD Block at a cost of Rs 2 lakh.

CM Rekha Gupta also announced the establishment of 15 new Arogya Mandirs to enhance primary healthcare services in the constituency.

She mentioned that a long-neglected building near Max Hospital will soon be transformed into a modern super-speciality facility.

New water and sewer lines are being laid in all blocks to address essential infrastructure requirements prior to road construction.

During her visit, the Chief Minister inspected the road-widening project from Prembari Bridge to Singalpur village and instructed officials to expedite its completion.

She also laid the foundation stone for a new U-turn at NSP-Madhuban Chowk on Lala Jagat Narayan Marg, which will be constructed at a cost of Rs 40 lakh.
