New Delhi, Oct 9 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta underscored the importance of empowering women innovators and professionals as a cornerstone for achieving balanced and sustainable digital growth.

Speaking at a special session titled "Women in Tech: Diverse Minds, Disruptive Ideas" during the ongoing India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025, CM Gupta urged industry and government stakeholders to foster a robust ecosystem for mentorship, skill development, and entrepreneurship that allows women to take on significant roles in India’s digital evolution.

CM Gupta articulated that the government is committed to achieving self-sufficiency across various sectors, including defense and technology.

"The vision is clear; our country should manufacture its own semiconductors, establish its own networking systems, and produce the most mobile phones globally," she stated.

The Chief Minister also pointed out the increasing influence of women in driving India’s technology narrative.

"Courage, creativity, innovation, and vision know no gender. The sky is the limit," she emphasized.

During her tour of various pavilions at IMC 2025, CM Gupta engaged with women entrepreneurs, researchers, and startup founders who are showcasing groundbreaking technologies in artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, robotics, and telecom innovation.

Her remarks were in line with the theme of IMC 2025 -- Innovate to Transform -- reaffirming the government's dedication to inclusivity, innovation, and citizen-focused development.

Earlier, CM Gupta inaugurated a three-day Swadeshi Utsav 2025 organized by the Delhi government's Department of Industries and the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited.

Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Vocal for Local' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat,' the festival celebrates the theme "Swadeshi – Substitution of Foreign Made Goods with Swadeshi Goods".

In her inaugural speech, CM Gupta remarked: "Every Indian must acknowledge the 'industrial soldier' within -- one who guards the nation's economic frontiers through diligence and resolve."

"Motivated by Prime Minister Modi's vision of 'Vocal for Local' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat,' we are witnessing a revival of confidence and innovation among our citizens," she continued.

The Chief Minister asserted that the Swadeshi movement entails much more than mere symbolism.

"These campaigns extend beyond diyas and handicrafts -- their objective is to grant Indian brands global prominence across all sectors. It's time we take pride in our creations rather than foreign labels. Let us celebrate and say with pride -- 'This is my Indian brand',' she declared.

Delhi Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa mentioned that over 100 stalls at India Gate are showcasing India's entrepreneurial prowess -- including 11 enterprises under the PM Formalisation of Food Processing Enterprises Scheme, two stalls from Tihar Jail, self-help groups, and artisans from across the nation all embodying the spirit of Swadeshi.

The Swadeshi Utsav 2025 will run until October 11, featuring 100 exhibition stalls for MSMEs, artisans, self-help groups, One District One Product exporters, women and SC/ST entrepreneurs; food courts serving traditional Indian cuisines; daily cultural performances highlighting India's artistic and cultural heritage, and panel discussions with experts from CII, ASSOCHAM, FICCI, SIDBI, and other industry leaders.
