Itanagar, Feb 11 (NationPress) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu emphasized the state's dedication to enhancing the capabilities of government officials, particularly those in the district administration.

During a review meeting with officials at the East Siang district headquarters in Pasighat, the Chief Minister highlighted the vital role of Deputy Commissioners in achieving the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Arunachal’ by 2047, as outlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Reflecting on a recent deputy commissioners' conference in Itanagar, Khandu referenced six thematic areas from the conference, urging officials to implement schemes based on these themes: ‘Sundar Arunachal’, ‘Samridh Arunachal’, ‘Shikshit Arunachal’, ‘Swasth Arunachal’, ‘Surakshit Arunachal’, and ‘Swachch Arunachal’.

He described government officials, particularly those in districts, as the true backbone of governance. “If they focus on crafting solutions rather than lamenting over challenges, the accelerated development of both the state and its society can indeed materialize,” he stated.

Khandu remarked that while the council of ministers and MLAs formulate policies, it is the government officials who bring these policies to fruition on the ground. Hence, he stressed that a government’s success hinges on the integrity, dedication, and effectiveness of its employees and officers.

“We (politicians) are transient. You (government employees) are enduring. We may serve for five years, but you will be serving the public for over 30 years. Thus, your contribution to the state’s development and public welfare is paramount,” he expressed.

“Strengthening district capabilities is essential for enhancing last-mile service delivery to citizens,” he added. Khandu announced the initiation of Bottom-up Planning, which involves the crafting of District-level Vision and Development Plans, where deputy commissioners will play a crucial role.

Additionally, he revealed that appointed Guardian Ministers and Mentor Secretaries will conduct review meetings in their designated districts with all stakeholders, subsequently reporting back to the government. “Our goal will be to accurately identify the issues and requirements of each district and determine key priorities,” Khandu added.

Regarding Pasighat, the state's oldest town with over a century of history, the Chief Minister assured that the government is committed to fostering its development into one of the premier cities in Arunachal. He urged for unity and collaboration among all, regardless of political or other affiliations. “In the realm of our state’s development and the welfare of our citizens, we stand united as Team Arunachal,” he affirmed.

The Chief Minister also reviewed all flagship initiatives from both the state and central governments, along with other ongoing development projects in the district. This review meeting was attended by local MLAs, Oken Tayeng and Tabit Darang, BJP State President Kalling Moyong, Chief Councillor of Pasighat Municipal Council, DC, SP, and various Heads of Departments.
