Patna, Nov 9 (NationPress) In the midst of the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections, the Central government has elevated Tej Pratap Yadav's security to the Y+ category, who is the leader of Janshakti Janata Dal and the elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.
Tej Pratap, contesting from Mahua, recently reached out to the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing a perceived threat to his life and requesting enhanced security measures.
The Central government has acquiesced to his plea.
Speaking to reporters at Patna Airport on Sunday regarding the upgraded security detail, Tej Pratap expressed his discontent, stating, "Aap log hamesha mere peeche hi padhe rehte ho (You people are always after me)."
With this new arrangement, Tej Pratap Yadav is set to receive an expanded armed detail in accordance with Y+ category protocols.
He further asserted that the increase in security was due to a credible threat to his life before proceeding with his campaign schedule.
In recent days, Tej Pratap has been spotted at Patna Airport alongside BJP MP Ravi Kishan.
On Friday, Tej Pratap remarked that he would back anyone who fosters development in Bihar, while Ravi Kishan mentioned that the BJP’s doors are always open for Lord Shiva's devotees.
Ravi Kishan characterized Tej Pratap as a compassionate individual and a devout follower of Shiva.
When questioned about potential shifts after polling, Tej Pratap reaffirmed, "We will support whoever eradicates unemployment and provides jobs. We both wear a tilak, so why wouldn’t we commend each other?"
His frequent appearances with the BJP leader have reignited speculation about a possible shift toward the NDA, although no confirmation has been made, leaving it as mere political conjecture.
The Y+ security upgrade for Tej Pratap Yadav has again sparked political discussions in the state.
The second phase of the Bihar elections is slated for November 11, with the counting of votes on November 14.
