Patna, Nov 9 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on the concluding day of campaigning for the second phase of the Bihar Assembly election, unleashed a vigorous critique against the RJD and Congress, blaming the Lalu-Rabri administration for thrusting Bihar into a state of jungle raj.
Speaking at a rally in Arwal, Shah recounted Bihar's past struggles with Naxal violence, asserting that numerous massacres occurred during the period of 1990-2005.
He emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had successfully eradicated jungle raj and liberated the state from Naxalism.
Shah pointed out that Arwal, previously part of Jehanabad district, had experienced several atrocities during that era.
In a direct attack on Congress leadership, the Home Minister claimed that Rahul Gandhi had embarked on his recent yatra to safeguard infiltrators, asserting that the NDA would identify and eliminate every infiltrator from both Bihar and the nation.
He further accused the Opposition of treating infiltrators as a vote bank, contrasting this with the NDA's backing from the youth and 'Lakhpati Didis'.
Shah also criticized Congress for invoking Dr B.R. Ambedkar's name solely for electoral gains, arguing that they had failed to honor his legacy when in power.
He highlighted the Modi administration's decision to commemorate November 26 as Constitution Day and April 14 as National Harmony Day.
Regarding the first phase of voting, Shah claimed, “Lalu Prasad Yadav’s RJD and Rahul Gandhi’s Congress have already been eliminated from this election.”
“I urge the voters in Magadh to prevent the resurgence of the RJD. Just one minor error could invite back jungle raj in Bihar,” he stated.
Shah also mentioned that the Modi-Nitish government had credited Rs 10,000 each into the accounts of 1.41 crore Jeevika Didis — women linked with the state's self-help group network — and promised that if the NDA returned to power, an additional Rs 2 lakh would be deposited in their accounts over the next two-and-a-half years.
He enumerated various development initiatives, stating that the Modi government had revitalized the Barauni fertiliser plant and the Riga sugar mill, established two IT parks, and was in the process of constructing a textile park.
He projected that the NDA aimed to set up 25 new sugar mills in Bihar soon.
Shah charged that the CPI(ML) and Left parties would deter industrial growth if they gained power.
In a political analogy, the Union Home Minister compared all five NDA partners to the five Pandavas, while he alleged that the Mahagathbandhan was plagued by internal conflicts.
