Why Did HM Amit Shah Accuse RJD of 34 Massacres?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Nov 1 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah sharply criticized the RJD leadership on Saturday, alleging a history of 34 gruesome massacres during their governance from 1990 to 2005.
In a virtual rally aimed at NDA candidates in Gopalganj, Shah pointed to notorious incidents from that era, such as Bara, Senari, Bathani Tola, Laxmanpur-Bathe, Shankar Bigha, and Miapur.
He emphasized that this election transcends mere selection of an MLA or minister; it represents a choice between effective governance under Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar or the Jungle Raj associated with the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan).
Shah declared that the outcome would determine whether Bihar remains under the influence of those responsible for years of chaos or aligns with the development-oriented leadership of PM Modi and Nitish Kumar.
Although he intended to attend the rally in person, Shah addressed the audience virtually due to adverse weather conditions. He expressed his regrets to the enthusiastic crowd in Gopalganj, noting the district's history of never electing an RJD MP or MLA since 2002.
Shah reiterated the NDA manifesto, highlighting commitments aimed at women and farmers. He stated that Rs 10,000 had already been transferred to each of 1.41 crore Jeevika Didis and promised an additional Rs 2 lakh each after forming the government.
For farmers, he reported an increase in annual PM-Kisan support from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000.
He remarked that these are significant commitments: Rs 9,000 annually for 87 lakh farmers and Rs 2.10 lakh for 1.41 crore Jeevika Didis.
Shah also announced plans to reopen all sugar mills in Bihar, with several already operational, including three in Gopalganj and one rice mill, while the Riga Sugar Mill in Sitamarhi is also functioning.
Infrastructure developments were also a focus, including an expressway from Dumariaghat (Gopalganj) to Patna and the redevelopment of the Thave railway station.
