Patna, Nov 7 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted on Friday that the NDA is poised for a decisive victory in Bihar following the initial phase of polling.
While addressing a gathering in Jamui district, Shah stated that the RJD and Congress have been obliterated in this very first round of voting.
“Yesterday marked the first phase. Lalu Prasad and Rahul Gandhi’s parties have been eliminated. They shouldn't even expect to score any seats in Jamui,” the Home Minister declared.
He encouraged voters to ensure that all four seats in Jamui district are claimed by the NDA. Shah warned that some individuals are attempting to bring back the jungle raj by disguising themselves and changing their appearances, urging voters to remain steadfast in their support for the NDA’s symbols.
Recalling past Maoist violence, the Union Minister noted a time when Jamui and surrounding areas were heavily influenced by Naxal activities, citing the hijacking of the Dhanbad–Patna Express and the murder of three passengers.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, Shah claimed that Bihar has shed its Naxal ties, mentioning that voting hours have been extended to 5 p.m. in regions that previously closed at 3 p.m. due to security issues.
He highlighted that Chormara village, located on the Munger–Jamui border, has been liberated from Naxalism after 25 long years.
Shah also accused the Lalu–Rabri administration of overseeing rampant crime, including extortion, kidnappings for ransom, and caste massacres, asserting that over 35 such incidents occurred during that regime.
“This lawlessness crippled Bihar's industries and pushed the state towards despair. However, Nitish Kumar has restored order,” he noted.
In the past decade, he said, Prime Minister Modi has initiated numerous development projects across Bihar, including roads, bridges, power initiatives, and the establishment of sugarcane, ethanol, and fertilizer plants.
“The next five years will be pivotal for Bihar’s development,” Shah asserted.
The Union Home Minister also touched upon the Ayodhya Ram temple issue, stating that the original temple was destroyed “550 years ago” and accused Mughal, British, and subsequent Congress and Lalu Prasad Yadav governments of delaying its reconstruction. He noted that after Modi's return as Prime Minister in 2019, the ground-breaking ceremony occurred that same year, with consecration planned for 2024.
Shah emphasized that Sita was born in Bihar and mentioned the foundation-laying ceremony for a proposed temple at Punoura Dham in Sitamarhi, which is projected to cost Rs 850 crore and be completed within two years.
He charged that the RJD and Congress oppose this temple initiative.
“Regardless of their opposition, we – the BJP and the NDA – will construct a magnificent temple for Mother Sita,” he concluded.
