Pandharpur, July 5 (NationPress) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday critiqued Shiv Sena-UBT leader Uddhav Thackeray, asserting that he gave a “rudali” (professional mourner) style address during the joint rally.
CM Fadnavis remarked that Uddhav Thackeray's entire address failed to mention Marathi and concentrated instead on the downfall of his government, power struggles, and elections.
“This was not a celebratory rally for Marathi; it was a Rudali. We have witnessed this Rudali at that venue. Essentially, Uddhav Thackeray is envious because he achieved nothing noteworthy during his 25-year tenure at the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation,” stated CM Fadnavis.
He added, “Everyone has observed how we transformed Mumbai under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance. During his (Uddhav Thackeray) administration, the Marathi populace of Mumbai was marginalized. They envy us for providing housing to the Marathi residents of BDD Chawl, Abhyudaya Nagar, and Patra Chawl in the same area. Whether Marathi or non-Marathi, everyone stands with us. We take pride in being Marathi and Hindutva advocates; we are proud to be Hindus.”
He expressed gratitude to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena founder Raj Thackeray for acknowledging his role in reuniting the estranged Thackeray brothers (Uddhav and Raj) after two decades.
“I must be receiving blessings from the esteemed Balasaheb Thackeray somewhere,” the Chief Minister remarked.
The Chief Minister was addressing the media in Pandharpur, where he is set to perform a traditional Pooja for Vitthal and Rakhumai on the auspicious Ashadhi Ekadashi, which occurs on Sunday.
Earlier, at the joint rally celebrating the Maharashtra government’s withdrawal of two resolutions regarding the introduction of Hindi alongside Marathi and English from grade one, Raj Thackeray remarked, “Maharashtra surpasses any dispute or conflict. What Balasaheb Thackeray could not achieve, what many could not accomplish… bringing us both together… Devendra Fadnavis managed to do.”
Conversely, Uddhav Thackeray criticized the BJP for accusing him of abandoning Hindutva, asserting that he has neither forsaken Hindutva nor his commitment to advocate for Marathi pride.
“Hindutva does not belong to any single language. We, who speak authentic Marathi, embody greater patriotic Hindutva than you,” taunted Uddhav Thackeray.
