Patna, Nov 2 (NationPress) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday launched a fierce critique against Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, for allegedly disrespecting both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chhathi Maiya, a highly esteemed deity in Bihar.

During his campaign in the state gearing up for elections, Fadnavis stated to IANS that Gandhi's comments on Chhath Puja demonstrated a “lack of wisdom” and a significant disconnect from the local culture.

"Rahul Gandhi frequently makes such ill-considered remarks, which is why his party faces continual defeats. It’s clear that he has not only disrespected PM Modi but also Chhathi Maiya. The people of Bihar will not forgive anyone who disrespects Chhathi Maiya," Fadnavis asserted.

Fadnavis further criticized the opposition coalition, particularly targeting Akhilesh Yadav, leader of the Samajwadi Party, claiming that they have failed to promote development in the heartland states. “They have devastated Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, and this entire Mahagathbandhan cannot bring about progress in Bihar. Only the NDA can achieve that,” he proclaimed.

In response to questions about Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s visit to Bihar, Fadnavis acknowledged the democratic right for anyone to campaign but insisted that the public is already set in their voting preferences. “It’s a democracy, and anyone can campaign anywhere. However, the people of Bihar are not swayed by their speeches. They have already made their choices,” he remarked.

Praising the advancements made under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and the NDA, Fadnavis noted, “There has indeed been substantial development in Bihar. In the last five years, we have witnessed significant progress, and we aim for a Viksit Bihar moving forward.”

Highlighting Prime Minister Modi’s strong connection with the state, Fadnavis remarked, “PM Modi shares a profound emotional bond with Bihar. He holds Bihar close to his heart, and the people of Bihar reciprocate this sentiment. This bond runs deep. The citizens of Bihar will welcome him warmly today.”

Fadnavis is currently in Bihar campaigning for NDA candidates ahead of the critical first phase of polling scheduled for November 6.

The Prime Minister is set to address two public rallies and lead a roadshow later in the day as the NDA amplifies its campaign in this politically vital region.
