Patna, Oct 30 (NationPress) In a strong address, Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, for his disrespectful remarks towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chhathi Maiya. He asserted that the citizens of Bihar will respond decisively to the Congress and the Grand Alliance in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
While rallying in Lakhisarai to back BJP candidate and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Shah declared, “Rahul Gandhi, your supporters have insulted PM Modi’s mother, you have used derogatory language against him, and now you have disrespected Chhathi Maiya. This is Bihar, and the citizens here will deliver a proper response to you and the Grand Alliance on November 6 and 11. When the votes are counted on November 14, your alliance will be eradicated.”
These remarks followed Gandhi's recent comments during an election rally in Muzaffarpur, where he harshly criticized Prime Minister Modi’s symbolic ‘Yamuna bath’ during Chhath Puja, referring to it as a staged photo opportunity. “There was no Yamuna ji there — only a pond filled with clean water for Modi ji. Clean water was brought through pipes for his photo-op, while the genuine India suffers in polluted water,” stated Gandhi.
Shah also directed his fire at RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and the Congress party, holding them accountable for an era marked by lawlessness and corruption.
“Before 2005, Bihar was under the grip of jungle raj. All industries and businesses were closed; the only thriving industry was kidnapping and ransom. Violent crimes and murders were prevalent during Lalu and Rabri’s administration,” Shah mentioned.
He credited Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the transformation of Bihar since he took office in 2005.
“When you entrusted Bihar’s governance to Nitish Kumar, he abolished jungle raj and ushered in a new developmental era. This time, let’s establish an NDA government again. The groundwork laid by PM Modi and Nitish Kumar will support our government in constructing a remarkable future,” Shah emphasized.
Alleging corruption within the Opposition, Shah claimed both the RJD and Congress were embroiled in significant scams.
“Lalu and Rabri executed scams in Bihar. The Congress was responsible for Rs 12 lakh crore in corruption over a decade. They cannot contribute positively to Bihar,” he remarked.
Shah highlighted the clean governance of the NDA in contrast to the alleged corruption of the Opposition.
“Nitish Kumar has governed for 20 years and Narendra Modi for 11 years, and neither has faced accusations of even a penny’s worth of corruption. Every rupee is dedicated to the welfare of the impoverished,” he stated.
Focusing on women’s empowerment, Shah mentioned that PM Modi’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, initiated in response to the murders of tourists in Pahalgam, represents respect for women in the country.
“The vermilion of Lakhisarai symbolizes our mothers’ and sisters’ well-being. By naming the operation ‘Operation Sindoor,’ PM Modi has elevated women’s respect globally,” he added.
Shah urged voters to support the NDA, viewing their vote as a commitment to Bihar’s ongoing development.
“Voting in Lakhisarai is on November 6. When you select the lotus and arrow symbols, remember — your vote is not merely for an MLA or minister. Every vote contributes to developing Bihar under Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi and to dismantling the rule of lawlessness,” Shah concluded.
