How are Farmers in Jhabua Benefiting from the PM-KISAN Scheme?

Jhabua, May 17 (NationPress) The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme has significantly transformed the lives of farmers in Madhya Pradesh’s Jhabua district. This initiative, aimed at delivering financial aid to farmers, has strengthened their economic resilience and enhanced agricultural practices, thus fostering comprehensive rural development.

Due to its ongoing success, the scheme is vital in empowering local farmers, ensuring their financial autonomy and stability.

Initiated by the central government, PM-KISAN is designed to assist landholding farmers by providing an annual amount of Rs 6,000, distributed in three equal payments of Rs 2,000 each. This monetary support aids farmers in managing their agricultural costs and elevating their livelihoods. With this funding, farmers can acquire essential resources like seeds, fertilizers, and farming tools, enhancing their productivity.

IANS engaged with numerous farmers from Jhabua to gauge the impact of the PM-KISAN scheme on their lives.

Dinesh Patidar, a farmer from Anantkhedi village, stated, “The Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has alleviated many of our financial burdens. The funds we receive enable us to purchase agricultural supplies, with a plethora of assistance available to us.”

Another farmer, Ramchandra Dangi, remarked, “Thanks to the financial support from this scheme, we can afford fertilizers and seeds. This aid is essential for covering our initial farming costs. I extend my gratitude to the government for this.”

Nandlal Patidar Jamli, a farmer, praised the scheme, saying, “The Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is an excellent initiative by Modi ji for farmers. It significantly benefits small and impoverished farmers, enabling us to acquire fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides for our crops.”

Rajendra Patidar, a farmer from Jamli, expressed, “I have received the 19th installment of the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. This funding meets our agricultural needs, allowing us to invest in farm development.”

Meanwhile, Dharmaraj Patidar from Bani village added, “The government is providing substantial financial support to farmers. However, I believe increasing the amount would further strengthen our financial standing in the long run.”

The PM-KISAN scheme forms part of the central government's initiative to secure economic stability for farmers across India. Since its inception on February 24, 2019, the scheme has been pivotal in assisting landholding families. This initiative transfers the Rs 6,000 annual benefit directly into farmers' Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts, ensuring transparency and reducing middlemen's involvement.

To date, over Rs 2.60 lakh crores have been disbursed to more than 11 crore farmers, making it one of the country's largest agricultural welfare projects. The Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system guarantees timely and efficient funds distribution to farmers.

Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan recently spoke to the media about the upcoming release of the 19th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme. He highlighted that over Rs 3.46 lakh crores have been allocated to more than 11 crore farmer families through 18 installments, showcasing the scheme's extensive impact.

The scheme not only provides financial assistance but also contributes significantly to farmers' economic empowerment. In regions like Jhabua, where agriculture is the economic backbone, the PM-KISAN Yojana plays a crucial role in boosting productivity and enhancing farmers' quality of life.
