Kolkata, Nov 4 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the West Bengal Assembly and prominent BJP figure, Suvendu Adhikari, asserted on Tuesday that illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators have begun to escape from the state in groups following the announcement of the special intensive revision (SIR) by the Election Commission.
"SIR for these illegal infiltrators is akin to carbolic acid for snakes. Just as the Commission declared the SIR application, these infiltrators have started fleeing from West Bengal, mirroring how snakes react to carbolic acid," LoP Adhikari stated during a BJP rally in Sodepur, located in North 24 Parganas district.
The rally was organized to protest the alleged attempts by the Trinamool Congress to misrepresent the SIR.
LoP Adhikari emphasized that due to the prolonged tolerance of these infiltrators, the demographic landscape in around 6,000 villages in West Bengal has been dramatically altered.
"The Hindu population in these 6,000 villages has dwindled to almost nonexistent levels. There isn’t a single Hindu temple remaining in these areas," he remarked.
Mocking the Trinamool Congress’s concurrent rally in Kolkata opposing the SIR, LoP Adhikari pointed out that numerous illegal infiltrators were present at the ruling party’s rally on Tuesday.
"Similar to 'Love Jihad', these infiltrators are engaging in 'Vote Jihad'. The Trinamool Congress resembles a modern iteration of the Muslim League, fulfilling the unaccomplished aspirations of Muhammad Ali Jinnah," he commented.
Earlier that day, LoP Adhikari lodged a complaint at the West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer's (CEO) office, alleging that the Trinamool Congress, with help from a private agency, is fabricating fake birth certificates for illegal voters to submit alongside the SIR enumeration forms.
After filing the complaint at the CEO's office, he indicated that the majority of these counterfeit birth certificates are being created in the names of deceased voters, especially prevalent in North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, and Cooch Behar districts.
The CEO's office assured LoP Adhikari that all documents submitted with the enumeration forms would undergo thorough examination.
