New Delhi, Sep 9 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Tuesday that her government is actively working to deliver compensation to farmers whose crops were severely impacted by rain and flooding.
While addressing the media, CM Gupta stated, "Farmers will be provided with relief. Our government is committed to helping all those affected by the floods recover quickly."
Her supportive remarks for distressed farmers coincide with a request from the Delhi Congress to grant compensation at the rate of Rs 1 lakh per acre for crop losses.
Commending the relentless efforts of the administration for flood and rain relief, CM Gupta added, "We must enhance our relief operations and ensure that victims can return to their homes as soon as possible."
Previously, the Chief Minister revealed plans to introduce awards for exemplary government officials.
"In our mission to transform Delhi into a prosperous and developed capital, we are united as a team. To foster this spirit, our government will recognize and reward officials who excel in categories such as Best Engineer, Best Department, Best SDM, Best DM, and others annually," she declared.
In a post on X, she mentioned, "Today, a comprehensive review meeting took place at the Delhi Secretariat with DMs, SDMs, Sub-Registrars, and officials from the Revenue Department to discuss various development projects and public welfare issues."
"From effectively managing the Kanwar Yatra to addressing urgent situations such as heavy rains and the rising water levels of the Yamuna, our officials have demonstrated unwavering dedication and promptness to the citizens of Delhi around the clock. It is this collective spirit that ensures the safety and capability of our city," she remarked.
"Our forthcoming objective is to flawlessly execute significant events like Ramlila and Durga Puja with utmost dignity and organization," she added.
The Chief Minister emphasized that clear directives have been issued to officials for continuous and effective monitoring of every operation.
No form of disorder should be tolerated, and transparency must be prioritized in all endeavors, she concluded.
