Forward Bloc Calls on Trinamool to Address Kunal Ghosh's Remarks Regarding Netaji

Kolkata, Jan 7 (NationPress) The All India Forward Bloc, a political organization created by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in 1939 following a split from Congress, has called upon the Trinamool Congress to take steps against party member Kunal Ghosh for his shocking remarks regarding Netaji.

Earlier this week, Ghosh remarked that the achievements of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stem from her founding of the Trinamool Congress after her departure from Congress, a feat that even Netaji could not accomplish in his political lifetime.

The General Secretary of Forward Bloc, G. DeVaan, released a statement asserting that Ghosh's statements were not only outrageous but also aimed at currying favor with the Chief Minister.

In his statement, Devarajan reminded the Chief Minister of the monumental contributions to the freedom struggle and requested that she ensure no Trinamool Congress members belittle history in such a fashion.

The leadership of Forward Bloc contended that Ghosh's comparisons were inappropriate since both events occupy distinct historical contexts.

Netaji had to leave the country to organize the Indian National Army for India's liberation from British rule. Thus, he had limited opportunities to engage in parliamentary politics domestically,” explained a BJP state leader in West Bengal.

In contrast, Ghosh defended his position, acknowledging that Netaji's contributions in his respective domains were unmatched. “However, the way Mamata Banerjee established her own party and made significant strides in both state and national politics is truly admirable,” Ghosh stated.

He also criticized Congress, the party with which Mamata Banerjee was affiliated for a lengthy period before creating her own party, for failing to acknowledge her fighting spirit against the previous Left Front regime in West Bengal and claimed that it has been repeatedly shown that the people of West Bengal did not accept her ousting from Congress.
