Jaipur, March 5 (NationPress) To mark International Women's Day on March 8, a unique initiative allows women throughout Rajasthan to travel for free on Rajasthan Roadways buses.
The announcement came on Wednesday as per the directions of Roadways Chairperson Shubhra Singh. Roadways Managing Director Purushottam Sharma confirmed that the complimentary travel service will be accessible from midnight until 11:59 PM on March 8.
This offer is valid for all ordinary and express buses operating within the state of Rajasthan. However, it does not apply to air-conditioned or Volvo buses. For journeys on interstate routes, free travel will only apply within the borders of Rajasthan.
An official clarified that if a woman travels from Jaipur to Delhi, her fare will be complimentary for the journey within Rajasthan. However, once the state line is crossed, she will need to buy a ticket for the rest of her trip to Delhi.
Jyoti Chauhan, Executive Director (Traffic) of Rajasthan Roadways, highlighted that this program is designed to empower women and facilitate their mobility.
