Chennai, April 18 (NationPress) The Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is set to embark on an intensive campaign journey throughout Tamil Nadu this Saturday, enhancing the Congress party's initiatives in anticipation of the upcoming Assembly elections on April 23.
Vote counting is scheduled for May 4, with results anticipated on the same day.
The Congress party, a pivotal partner in the DMK-led coalition, has been allocated 28 seats across the State.
Gandhi's visit is designed to motivate party supporters and fortify the campaign in crucial constituencies.
As per the itinerary confirmed by party officials, LoP Gandhi will leave Delhi at 8:30 A.M. and arrive in Chennai at 11:10 A.M.
He will then travel by helicopter to Ponneri in Tiruvallur district, where he will address a public gathering from 11:55 A.M. to 12:40 P.M.
Subsequently, he will head to Sholingur, arriving at 1:15 P.M., to participate in a public meeting from 1:25 P.M. to 2:10 P.M.
Following a brief return to Chennai, Rahul Gandhi will continue his campaign in Tiruchirappalli, departing at 3:00 P.M. and arriving at 3:45 P.M.
From there, he will proceed to Thuraiyur for a public rally scheduled between 4:15 P.M. and 5:00 P.M.
After the event, LoP Gandhi will return to Tiruchirappalli and depart for Delhi at 5:40 P.M., reaching the national capital by 8:30 P.M.
According to party sources, LoP Gandhi is expected to return to Tamil Nadu on April 20 for additional campaigning in Nanguneri, Srivaikuntam, and Kulachal constituencies.
There is also a possibility of him sharing the stage with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin for the first time during this election campaign, notably in Nanguneri.
With the elections approaching rapidly, Rahul Gandhi's tour today is poised to significantly enhance the campaign momentum of the DMK-Congress alliance across the State.
