Modasa, April 16 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, proclaimed on Wednesday that the path to overcoming the BJP traverses through Gujarat, emphasizing that this very land is the birthplace of Congress’s ideological foundations.

“The journey to dismantling the RSS-BJP ideology begins in Gujarat, the land that has nurtured Congress’s ideological roots. Gujarat is pivotal to the Congress party’s aspirations,” stated Rahul Gandhi during his address at the District Workers’ Convention in Modasa, Gujarat.

Rahul Gandhi invigorated party members through the ‘Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan’—an internal initiative aimed at rejuvenating and fortifying Congress from the grassroots level.

“The contest between Congress and the RSS-BJP is not merely political; it is fundamentally ideological. The nation understands that only Congress possesses the vision and strength to oppose and vanquish them,” he remarked.

He voiced optimism about the potential for revitalizing Congress in Gujarat, declaring it both achievable and vital, and pledged that the party would pursue this objective with resolve.

Rahul Gandhi also launched a fierce critique of the Modi administration, accusing it of inciting unemployment and exacerbating economic disparities.

“The wealth of India is being transferred to a privileged few. Whatever they desire, they obtain, while ordinary citizens are left feeling powerless,” he asserted.

Making a compelling argument for internal democracy and grassroots leadership, Rahul Gandhi indicated that the Congress party will allocate roles based on capability rather than mere visibility.

He illustrated this with a metaphor, stating that the party will favor “race-horses” over “wedding-horses,” suggesting a shift towards performance-driven acknowledgment rather than symbolic presence.

He further highlighted the necessity of decentralizing authority within Congress, advocating that district-level functions should be managed locally, rather than from Ahmedabad.

“District leaders will be empowered, with their selection informed by grassroots leaders, not dictated from the top,” he noted.

Significantly, Rahul Gandhi revealed that under the new framework, the party organization will determine who stands for elections, positioning it as a pilot project for nationwide reform.

Rahul Gandhi also championed the emergence of a new leadership generation within Congress, urging the promotion of leaders who genuinely connect with the people and local communities.

He encouraged party members to strategically distance themselves from those suspected of colluding with the BJP, ensuring Congress remains ideologically sound and electorally robust.

Prominent Congress figures such as K.C. Venugopal, Mukul Wasnik, Shaktisinh Gohil, Amit Chavda, Shailesh Parmar, Tushar Chaudhary, Madhusudan Mistry, Bharat Solanki, Shiv Dahariya, Laljibhai Desai, and Kamalendra Singh were also in attendance.
