Patna, Dec 11 (NationPress) In a shocking incident, unidentified assailants targeted a readymade garment trader in the Begusarai district of Bihar on Thursday, resulting in his death, as per official reports.
The victim has been named as Mohammad Shahzad.
Shahzad sustained gunshot wounds near Parbanda Baba Sthan in the early hours, within the jurisdiction of the Veerpur police station.
As per police accounts, Shahzad was riding his motorcycle from his home in Pipra Daudraj village to his shop in Veerpur when he was ambushed by the attackers, who opened fire without hesitation.
The assailants fled the scene, brandishing weapons to deter any potential resistance.
Upon receiving the alert, Veerpur police arrived at the location to initiate their investigation.
Station House Officer (SHO) Ravindra Kumar mentioned that preliminary investigations suggest the incident may be rooted in a personal conflict.
"Operations are ongoing to apprehend the culprits," he added.
This occurrence follows closely on the heels of another violent episode just two days prior in the Chhaurahi police station area of Begusarai.
On Tuesday night, three armed individuals reportedly invaded the residence of Nilesh Kumar, a local JDU leader from Peer Nagar village, and opened fire at him while he slept.
According to reports, the three attackers, on motorcycles, executed the assault silently.
The consecutive violent incidents have ignited political reactions, notably from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
RJD spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav expressed grave concerns regarding the state's deteriorating law and order situation, asserting that the "cycle of crime" persists from the previous NDA government and continues unbroken under the new administration.
Yadav highlighted that over 50 murders have occurred in the state since the formation of the new government, emphasizing that those in power bear the responsibility for maintaining law and order.
He insisted on impartial action against criminals, stating that "a criminal is a criminal" regardless of their background.
Law enforcement teams are actively working on both cases to identify and capture the suspects.
