Jaipur, April 1 (NationPress) One individual lost their life and 40 others were affected due to a nitrogen gas leak from a tanker located inside the warehouse of an acid factory in Rajasthan's Beawar.
This incident unfolded around 10 p.m. on Monday at the Sunil Trading Company situated in the Badiya area, under the jurisdiction of the Beawar police station. The gas leak also tragically resulted in the demise of several pets and stray animals.
The deceased was the factory owner, Sunil Singhal, who attempted to manage the gas leak throughout the night but ultimately succumbed to its effects. His health worsened, necessitating his transfer to a hospital in Ajmer, where he later passed away.
Sources indicate that nitrogen gas leaked from a tanker stored in the company's warehouse. The leak was so catastrophic that it rapidly spread to nearby residential areas, affecting residents inside their homes. Many experienced symptoms such as suffocation and eye irritation, prompting over 60 individuals to be rushed to government and private hospitals in Beawar for medical assistance. Upon notification, police and administrative officials, including the DM, SP, and fire brigade teams, successfully managed to contain the gas leak by around 11 p.m.
