Jaipur, April 1 (NationPress) The tragic incident involving a nitrogen gas leak from a tanker located in the warehouse of an acid factory in Beawar, Rajasthan has resulted in a death toll of three. Over 60 individuals have experienced health issues, with two in critical condition, which led to the evacuation of the surrounding area.

The accident took place on Monday at Sunil Trading Company in the Baria locality of Beawar police precinct. Numerous homes in the vicinity were evacuated due to the hazardous gas.

Among the victims is Sunil Singhal (47), the factory owner, who tragically lost his life while trying to manage the gas leak. He was rushed to the Ajmer JLN Hospital but succumbed during treatment.

Two other fatalities occurred on Tuesday morning, identified as Narendra Solanki (40) and Dayaram (40).

Currently, two individuals, Babulal (54) and Laxmi Devi (62), are in critical condition and receiving medical attention at JLN Hospital.

Reports indicate that nitrogen gas escaped from a tanker in the warehouse and rapidly infiltrated nearby residential areas.

Residents inside their homes reported symptoms of suffocation and eye irritation as the gas spread.

Firefighter Navlesh Kumar noted that his colleagues Arjun Singh, Jitendra Kumar, and Vicky Rathore experienced chest tightness, coughing, and vomiting as a result of gas exposure.

Local resident Nandeshwar detected the gas leak around 6 p.m. on Monday. By 7 p.m., the odor intensified, prompting him to notify the police.

In the meantime, neighbor Mahendra Singhal evacuated his family after suffering from breathing difficulties, eye irritation, and nausea.

Upon receiving the alert, police, administration, and fire brigade personnel arrived and managed to control the gas leak by 11 p.m.

District Collector Mahendra Khadgawat has ordered the factory's closure. Beawar SDM Divyansh Singh confirmed an ongoing investigation by the Municipal Council, Revenue, and Police Departments. An FIR has been filed against the acid factory for jeopardizing public safety.

Additionally, tanker driver Babulal reported that the leak began while unloading a nitric acid tanker from Gujarat. Efforts to manage the situation were unsuccessful, resulting in extensive gas exposure.

To address the situation, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kasana and his team coordinated emergency response efforts.

District Collector Khadgawat and Superintendent of Police Shyam Singh ensured that special medical provisions were made for the victims.

Authorities are currently investigating the precise cause of the incident to prevent any future occurrences, according to officials.
