Hyderabad, April 20 (NationPress) In a tragic episode, a three-year-old girl was brutally attacked and killed by a group of stray dogs in Telangana’s Peddapalli district on Monday.

The pack of stray dogs lunged at the child while she was playing near her home in Katnapalli village within the Sultanabad mandal.

The dogs seized the girl by her neck and pulled her into the adjacent fields. Unfortunately, she died from her severe injuries before the nearby residents could intervene and drive the dogs away.

The victim has been identified as Divya Behra. Her parents, who migrated from Odisha, work at a local brick kiln.

This incident has sparked outrage among the community, with many locals urging municipal authorities to take decisive action against the rising stray dog issue.

This occurred just days after a seven-year-old boy lost his life due to a stray dog attack in Rajanna Sircilla district.

The boy, named Aditya, was attacked on April 1 while playing outside his house. He attempted to flee but fell, suffering an internal head injury and a blood clot in his brain. Aditya later died on April 16 in a private hospital in Hyderabad.

The state has been facing increasing incidents of such attacks, leading to heightened concerns about public safety.

Another tragic case occurred in July 2024, when an 18-month-old boy was killed by stray dogs in the Jawahar Nagar area of Hyderabad. While playing outside, he was attacked and dragged away by one dog before other strays joined the assault. Despite his parents' efforts to rescue him, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after being hospitalized.

Additionally, in May 2024, a five-month-old baby boy was killed by a stray dog in Vikarabad district when the animal entered their home and attacked the sleeping child, who was left alone while his parents worked nearby.
