The state has been facing increasing incidents of such attacks, leading to heightened concerns about public safety.
In July of last year, an eight-year-old boy was fatally attacked by stray dogs in the Keshawanagar area of Neredmet in Hyderabad. Jadhav Prasad, a Class III student, sustained critical injuries and died the following day during treatment at Gandhi Hospital.
Another tragic case occurred in July 2024, when an 18-month-old boy was killed by stray dogs in the Jawahar Nagar area of Hyderabad. While playing outside, he was attacked and dragged away by one dog before other strays joined the assault. Despite his parents' efforts to rescue him, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after being hospitalized.
Additionally, in May 2024, a five-month-old baby boy was killed by a stray dog in Vikarabad district when the animal entered their home and attacked the sleeping child, who was left alone while his parents worked nearby.
