What Did Russian President Putin and Other Leaders Say About the Ahmedabad Plane Crash?

Moscow/New Delhi, June 12 (NationPress) Leaders from around the globe have expressed their condolences for those affected by the tragic crash of an Air India flight destined for London. The aircraft, carrying over 240 individuals, went down shortly after departing from Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon, in the vicinity of Meghaninagar, prompting a significant emergency response.

Among the passengers were at least 169 Indians and 53 British nationals aboard Air India flight AI171 heading to Gatwick.

Russian President Vladimir Putin conveyed his condolences to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the airplane disaster in Ahmedabad.

"Please accept my heartfelt condolences regarding the tragic outcomes of the aircraft accident in Ahmedabad. Kindly extend my sincere sympathies and support to the families of the victims, along with wishes for a speedy recovery for all injured in this disaster," stated Putin.

The President of the Maldives, Mohamed Muizzu, expressed sorrow and solidarity with the Indian Government and its citizens.

"I am profoundly saddened by the tragic incident involving Air India flight AI 171 near Ahmedabad. During this challenging time, both the government and the people of the Maldives stand united with India," Muizzu posted on X.

Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Union, expressed her shock at the "heart-wrenching news" from India.

"My deepest sympathies go to the families mourning this significant loss. We share in your sorrow. Dear Narendra Modi, Europe stands with you and the Indian people during this painful moment," she remarked.

Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Khaleel also took to social media to offer condolences regarding the tragic incident.

"I am deeply saddened by the terrible crash of an Air India flight. I extend heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones impacted by this event. Our thoughts are with the injured and all affected, including the emergency responders working tirelessly at the scene," Khaleel posted on X.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar expressed his sorrow and thoughts for the Indian populace.

"I am deeply saddened to learn of the recent airplane crash in Ahmedabad, India. Our hearts are with the Indian people during this tragic event," Sa'ar posted on X.

Chinese Ambassador to India, Xu Feihong, also expressed solidarity with all those impacted by the unfortunate crash.

"We are deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. Our thoughts go out to the passengers and their families. We stand together with all those affected during this challenging time," Xu Feihong posted on X.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry of Azerbaijan also extended its condolences to those affected by the disaster and prayed for their recovery.

"We are deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad, India. We offer our condolences to the families and friends of those impacted. We wish for strength and healing in the days to come," the Ministry posted on X.

On behalf of the US mission in India, US Charge d'Affaires Jorgan Andrews expressed his sadness and offered thoughts to the families impacted by this horrific tragedy.

"On behalf of the US Mission in India, we are profoundly saddened by the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. Our heartfelt condolences and thoughts are with the families affected by this devastating incident. We stand with India during this time of mourning," the US Embassy in India posted on X.

Previously, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed his shock and sorrow after the Air India flight destined for London crashed shortly after departing from Ahmedabad airport.

"The images emerging from the crash of a London-bound plane carrying numerous British nationals in Ahmedabad are heartbreaking. I am being kept updated as the situation unfolds, and my thoughts are with the passengers and their families during this deeply distressing moment," Starmer posted on X.

British Defence Secretary David Lammy also expressed his condolences regarding the tragic event and offered his sympathies to those affected.

"I am deeply saddened by the news of the devastating plane crash in Ahmedabad, India. My thoughts are with all those impacted. The UK is collaborating with local authorities in India to quickly establish the facts and provide assistance," Lammy posted on X.

British Conservative Party MP Priti Patel urged the UK government to cooperate with Indian authorities to support the affected British families.

"My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the plane crash in Ahmedabad, as well as the emergency services responding to the scene. This will be a distressing time for the families of those on board. As more information becomes available, the government must ensure it is working with Indian authorities to assist British families affected," stated Patel.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also took to social media to express his deepest condolences regarding the tragic event.

"Horrible news about a passenger plane crash in India. My heartfelt condolences to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and all people of India on this tragic day. Our thoughts are with the relatives of all victims in India, the UK, Portugal, and Canada. We share your shock and sorrow on this tragic day. We all pray for the rescue of as many lives as possible and wish a swift recovery to those injured," Zelensky posted on X.
