Gourav Vallabh Criticizes Congress for Remarks on ECI, Claims Rahul Gandhi Lacks Constitutional Faith

New Delhi, Nov 30 (NationPress) BJP spokesperson Gourav Vallabh directed criticism at Congress, focusing on the comments made by Maharashtra MLA Bhai Jagtap, who referred to the Election Commission of India (ECI) as a "dog". Vallabh stated that the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, does not have faith in the Constitution, as otherwise, such language against constitutional bodies would not be tolerated with immediate expulsion of the MLA.

Vallabh launched a pointed attack on Congress, asserting that the party is in its "winding-up stage" and that potential allies shy away from forming coalitions with it.

During an interview with IANS, Vallabh discussed incidents related to Sambhal, the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, an alleged extortion audio clip involving AAP MLA Naresh Balyan, and the troubling situation of minorities in Bangladesh.

Here are selected excerpts from the interview:

IANS: Congress MLA Bhai Jagtap referred to the Election Commission as a "dog" of PM Modi. What are your thoughts on this?

Gourav Vallabh: Rahul Gandhi, who seems to possess a childish mindset, often holds the Constitution book, which defines the Election Commission of India as an independent and impartial authority. Yet, his party's leaders resort to using abusive language towards it.

This indicates that Rahul Gandhi lacks faith in the Constitution. If he truly held it in esteem, the individual using the term 'dog' for the Election Commission would have faced expulsion immediately. Rather, it appears that Rahul Gandhi is more interested in creating obstacles to India's progress and aligning himself with those who criticize the nation.

IANS: Do you anticipate Congress and AAP forming an alliance for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections?

Gourav Vallabh: In recent by-elections in Uttar Pradesh, the SP expressed disinterest in collaborating with Congress. Similarly, in Haryana, Congress rejected an alliance, and in Punjab, AAP also distanced itself. This INDIA bloc is merely an attempt to deceive the public.

On one side, there’s a party whose leaders have faced jail time due to a liquor scam, while on the other, there’s a strong, dual-engine governance under the BJP. Like in Maharashtra, the BJP is set to secure a commanding majority.

IANS: Why do you think other parties are hesitant to ally with such a historically significant party as Congress?

Gourav Vallabh: Only a few parties have allied with Congress, like Shiv Sena-UBT, NCP-Sharad Pawar, or Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). In Jharkhand, Congress owes its few seats to JMM; otherwise, it would be virtually nonexistent there. The outcome of Uddhav Thackeray aligning with Congress is similarly dire, as he joined a party that Balasaheb Thackeray once warned against.

Congress lacks coherent policies, sincere intentions, and effective leadership. Their leadership is merely familial: a brother, sister, mother, brother-in-law, niece, and nephew. This exemplifies dynastic politics at its worst. They show no genuine policies, only strategies to divide the populace along caste lines while pretending to respect the Constitution.

During a recent rape incident in Kolkata, their leaders opted not to visit, fearing backlash from Mamata Didi and their dwindling partners in the INDIA bloc. Yet, they would rush to similar events in other states.

This alienates the electorate and deters alliances. This trend has been evident in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and will likely repeat in Delhi. Congress is undeniably in its winding-up stage.

IANS: After discussions on accountability regarding electoral losses, Rahul Gandhi suggested Mallikarjun Kharge take action based on poor results. What’s your view?

Gourav Vallabh: Congress claims EVMs are problematic, yet during their recent CWC meeting, they acknowledged the electorate is simply not supporting them. Congress needs to clarify their stance on EVM reliability. If they assert there are faults, why did they not arise in Wayanad? It seems EVMs operate well in Ranchi but malfunction in Mumbai. The issue is not with EVMs but with Congress’s leadership and policies.

The party has become an advocate for those opposing national progress, serving as a brand ambassador for anti-national sentiments. Congress finds itself in a state of confusion.

IANS: A delegation from the Samajwadi Party was scheduled to visit Sambhal but was prevented from doing so. What are your thoughts?

Gourav Vallabh: SP leaders should avoid Sambhal. Their presence would do nothing to foster peace and could potentially incite violence. The INDIA bloc seems to operate solely on a divide-and-rule strategy, prompting police intervention to prevent unrest.

IANS: The BJP has released an audio recording suggesting AAP MLA Naresh Balyan has links to gangsters and engages in extortion. What’s your response?

Gourav Vallabh: There’s a viral video and audio of Naresh Balyan discussing how he extorts money from a builder, revealing his affinity for liquor (AAP). Will Atishi expel him from the party? Can she remove the former CM, who was jailed due to a liquor policy scandal? She cannot, as Arvind Kejriwal still wields the real power.

People are closely observing this. Just as the Communist Party faced decline across much of India, the Daru Premi Party will likely meet a similar fate.

IANS: Reports indicate minorities in Bangladesh are under attack again. What are your thoughts?

Gourav Vallabh: It’s deeply regrettable to witness religiously motivated attacks in our neighboring country. This is an unfortunate occurrence, and the Government of India, along with its citizens, has voiced concern.

In the future, India will not tolerate assaults on Hindus. I want to convey to the Bangladeshi government, regardless of their political stance, that they cannot expect the same complacency they had with Congress; under the Modi government, any atrocities against Hindus will not be permitted.
