Mumbai, Sep 17 (NationPress) Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal stated on Wednesday that the GST reform is a significant milestone in the path towards a self-reliant India and Viksit Bharat 2047.

Minister Goyal acknowledged the Prime Minister for the transformative and historic reforms in GST, emphasizing that he consistently prioritizes the constructive politics of development, while the populace rejects the negative politics and ideologies of the opposition.

“Prime Minister Modi bestowed two major gifts aimed at enhancing the living standards of the middle and lower-middle classes: income tax exemption and GST reforms. PM had pledged GST reforms on August 15, and it was rolled out before the Navratri festival, providing relief to ordinary citizens and bolstering the economy,” the minister declared at a press conference.

He expressed that the GST reforms will invigorate the economy, augment the purchasing power of consumers, accelerate trade, enhance industrial production and investment, and foster employment generation. These reforms will offer relief to farmers, micro, small and medium enterprises, women, youth, small traders, and the middle class.

Goyal noted that health services will also become more affordable. He urged industries to ensure that the complete benefits of these reforms reach consumers.

He highlighted that the visionary leadership of “our esteemed Prime Minister” Narendra Modi has contributed to the establishment of a self-reliant and robust India. The nation requires decisive leadership akin to that of Prime Minister Modi to realize a Viksit Bharat by 2047.

“PM Modi, who has dedicated 24 years to public service, has worked selflessly. He is recognized globally and has elevated the prestige of India and Indians worldwide, earning over 27 prestigious awards from various countries,” remarked Minister Goyal.

“A compassionate leader like PM Modi consistently prioritizes the welfare of four critical groups - the poor, youth, women, and farmers. He tirelessly works for the empowerment of the underprivileged and has initiated numerous schemes for their benefit. Today, on his birthday, the Prime Minister launched the month-long 'Swasth Nari, Sasakth Parivar' initiative from the sacred land of Madhya Pradesh, aimed at providing quality healthcare for women and children nationwide,” he added.

In his commitment to the comprehensive development of the nation, the Prime Minister has preserved the rich heritage of the country and promoted the growth of the North-Eastern regions through the 'Act East' policy, he stated.
