Gandhinagar, Nov 19 (NationPress) During a state-level event held in Gandhinagar, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel along with Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani distributed letters of approval for agricultural aid under various state initiatives, in conjunction with the latest installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi.

Farmers throughout Gujarat tuned in to the live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address from Coimbatore, where he announced the 21st installment of PM-Kisan, amounting to ₹18,000 crore for over 9 crore farmers across the nation. In Gujarat alone, more than 49.31 lakh farmers are set to receive ₹986 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer.

While addressing the attendees, Chief Minister Patel emphasized the state government’s prompt action regarding the recent unseasonal and heavy rainfall that led to significant crop damage. He mentioned that the ‘double-engine’ government has swiftly introduced a ₹10,000-crore relief package to assist farmers in their recovery efforts.

Patel pointed out that under the guidance of the Prime Minister’s farmer-oriented vision, over 98 percent of Gujarat’s farmers now have access to daytime power, revolutionizing the state’s agricultural environment and enhancing rural prosperity.

He also highlighted national efforts aimed at fostering natural farming, enhancing green cover, and building climate resilience, deeming natural farming as “the agriculture of the future” for both soil health and human well-being.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister noted that from sowing to market, the Prime Minister has consistently supported farmers, mentioning the implementation of the PM Dhan Dhanya Yojana and the effectiveness of Gujarat’s longstanding Krishi Mahotsav model, which delivers agricultural expertise directly to the farmers.

Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani remarked that PM Modi has always prioritized farmer welfare, both as Chief Minister of Gujarat and as Prime Minister, through initiatives such as MSP procurement, mechanization support, nano-technology in farming, IT integration, and the widespread promotion of natural and zero-budget agriculture. He announced that nearly one lakh metric tonnes of groundnut have already been delivered by farmers at 293 procurement centres, with total purchases exceeding ₹1,100 crore.

Earlier, Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture) Anju Sharma stated that the government provides comprehensive support to farmers throughout the value chain — from sowing to marketing — through improved seeds, fertilizer support, mechanization schemes, natural farming initiatives, and the newly enhanced i-Khedut Portal 2.0.

During the event, 15 beneficiary farmers received assistance under various agriculture and horticulture schemes. The gathering included Minister of State for Agriculture Ramesh Katara, Gandhinagar Mayor Meena Patel, district leaders, and a large assembly of farmers.
